I am hoping for a resolution for my mom's computer. The owner told me the m.2 drive is bad. He asked if he could re-install windows on the 1 tb ssd. I asked if there was an operating system on it. He said no. He asked if he could re-install windows. I was still not ready to answer that question but he asked again and said I don't know. I asked if he was certain it was empty...he seemed annoyed and asked if he could install the windows again. I said not yet and mentioned I might have a backup of the operating system with a fresh install. That did not sway him from wanting to just install windows so I decided to call back later.
I did call back later to ask more clarification questions such as if he removed the lid to physically count the drives and then I was going to ask if he used disk management or another tool to look at the drives. We were not able to get to the disk management question and he hung up the phone on me.
I called back and asked why he hung up on me. He said I asked the same question over and over. I told him I had more detailed questions but would not let me ask the questions. He said he has been doing this for so many years. Regardless of how many years he has been doing this it should not negate the customer asking questions about the steps. Anyway, this is what a computer repair shop should be. Friendly staff who are knowledgeable in their field.
They guarantee their work and the machines they sell 100%. Owner told me if he can't fix it, he's not going to charge for it. Personally, I wouldn't mind being charged for his time, but that's his choice.
This is where when I have computer issues I'll bring my machine(s) and not some national repair corporation that couldn't care less if I bring in my machine or not or if they can fix it or not.
