The Gemini Giant was historically located at the Launching Pad Restaurant from 1965 to 2024, but has now been moved a few blocks West, and it features on every Route 66 guide book. An absolute recommended stop while driving on the Mother Road.

Cool statue it has been moved but still in Wilmington. Rt 66 is so much fun to explore. I highly recommend coming here. Don't hesitate to get out of the car. Most of the towns in Illinois are under 10000 people except Pontiac Illinois which is 11000 people.

👨‍🚀 Route 66 classic! Had to stop for a pic with the Gemini Giant—it’s one of those must-see roadside oddities you just have to pull over for. Quick stop, super fun, and great for the photo op. Not much else to do there, but that’s part of the charm.
