Went here on the 4th of July on a lark. We had a picnic lunch and were looking for someplace to eat it. We drove up to the main house and were greeted warmly by the folks running the park. After a very pleasant lunch my family and I explored the battle field a bit and the museum on site a lot.
I have to say the quality of the museum really surprised me! Very well laid out with lots of great local information about the Civil War in that area.
They were fantastic with my 4 year old son who had a good time.

He gives personalized tours based on your interests, including a ghost tour, the Battle of Kernstown, personal stories of those who lived the Battle and many others. Visited this battlefield specifically to see the location of Pennsylvania Colonel William Murray who was killed at the battle. Murray was from Hollidaysburg, PA my home town area. Staff went above and beyond with the tour, especially our tour guide Larry Turner.
