Exploring locally is one of my goals for 2026 and this hidden gem in CT has some great finds. #ct #ctfinds #grocery #fyp #blogger

Store is clean and well stocked. Staff are friendly, helpful and very approachable. My children love shopping here as they have grocery carts their size. Purchasing dry goods here is economical and really illustrates how less waste (with packaging) can be easy. The Willimantic Food Co-op is a treasure to the community and a pleasure to shop at.

Wonderful little grocery store. I appreciate their clear commitment to sustainability, due to the many eco-friendly products and recycling options. The higher deposit cost for bottles and other items was especially nice to see, as it will encourage more people to bring the bottles back.

I have been shopping here, off and on, for years. I am so very grateful that the co-op is still here. I’ve lived in a few college towns that had organic grocers, but the Willimantic Co-op is far superior to any others I’ve shopped, and that’s saying a lot being so close to Amherst, Northampton, and dare I say Cambridge.

20 years ago it was really difficult for some reason to find locally grown/raised foods outside of farmers market season, but WC filled the gap beautifully - when I could make the drive out. Now that life has changed for the better, and I can shop at those big box organic places, I choose not to.

It’s because WC has, in my opinion anyway, focused on its members and the community. They brought in very high quality groceries from some stellar, mostly local grower maker farmers - as much as they could anyway, and their prices over the years stayed affordable.

I am consistently happy with the quality of the items I buy here, as if everything is curated. The produce is always fresh and in great shape. The herbal/tea aisle is the best brick and mortar store selection I’ve found in Connecticut. And the best part is my total bill when I pay it is surprisingly low for top quality organics.

Please go to the co-op. Consider becoming a member. The amazing food is only half the awesomeness to discover. Shopping here feels right....

One of my favorite places to shop! A great place to meet friendly people and staff. The staff is always exceptional! They are willing to drop what they are doing to serve your needs. The produce is fresh and often from local farms. There is such a variety of foods, especially for those with special dietary needs such as gluten free, vegan, allergies, etc . A large selection of cheeses and chocolate bars, two of my favorites. Another favorite is a very wide selection of herbs and spices which are very inexpensive compared to those in the most supermarkets. Many "Fair Trade" items, if you don't know what that is, just ask one of the staff members. I could go on and on. I have been going there and a member for many, many years and it has been exciting to see how it has blossomed and grown. A great Co-operative, please check it out and consider joining. You won't be sorry...

Such a pleasure to have an original organic store. The Co-op has been around for years. I remember when they first opened up around the block. It was like a fun house to us kids. Are parents would shop and we would be in the fun house climbing and jumping all over the place. Now the Co-op is even bigger and better. But let me tell you they kept that fun house. Lol They have fresh grown fruits and vegetables. Organic peanut butter, ice cream, spices, nuts, honey. You name it. I even took it upon my self to try dried seaweed!! There's so many healthy options to choose from. They even have all natural beauty products, energy supplement, vitamins, and stress relievers. The staff is great. The environment is friendly. Some one is always there to help. Thank you guys for being a big part of the town. All of these years. Definitely 5 STAR...
