  • Updated* Apparently it's been a while since I've been to retrod games. Today we drove 45 minutes out here to Winston-Salem to come back to retroid games (Smaller location) after quite some time ok needless to say this will be our last trip out here. We had come to spend some money and they hardly had anything to spend it on Not only that but, Apparently when you make a purchase you don't receive a receipt and when you ask for a receipt you get a handwritten receipt without a letterhead on it and they want you to sign their receipt book. Odd? Has anybody else experienced this? I suppose we'll just have to purchase one elsewhere thanks retroid for wasting our time! I suppose my 9-year-old son will just have to wait until we get the component ordered from my reputable store. * Previous Review* For those of you who grew up watching cartoon network as kids and weren't whinny crybabies belittling others because you couldn't get your way. This little place IS the place for you! It maybe small but like mighty mouse it packs a punch! Great selection of hard to find games reasonably priced. In the parking is limited to your imagination or for those of us who got to enjoy the outdoors as kids just a little bit of a walk down the road. Great friendly staff and a lot of fun to do business with. Out of all the gaming stores in the tri-state area this one definitely ranks in the top three worth...

Retroid Games & Records is one of my favorite local stores. It’s always my first stop for anything video game related. They have wide variety of games ranging from current consoles to old classic ones, all while having some of the best prices for video games I’ve seen. I can confidently say there’s a little something here for everyone.

Besides a wide selection of games, they also have all kinds of consoles, cables, controllers, etc, and they even provide a professional disc resurfacing service for your old scratched up games. While you’re at it, be sure to check out all the records, movies, collectibles, and anime merch as well!

Lastly, I’ve have to take a moment to mention the incredible staff. No matter who is behind the counter, I know I’ll have an amazing experience shopping at Retroid. Every visit is a joy, and I know I’ll walk out with a smile, and plenty of new items to add to...

Drove an hour to this store to pickup a few copies of old wii and GameCube games. Stumbled across a complete in box copy of pokemon soul silver for $300 which I almost bought, I had a stack of other items on the counter ready to buy. While I was contemplating my $300 purchase another employee walked in and was raving about how he better call the owner and ask before he sold me an EMPTY GAME CASE for $40, because it “exponentially raises the price of the game” they then checked to see if they had said game in stock, they did not. So they didn’t need the case. The employee called the owner and I was then told $150 for the EMPTY CASE….I found the same item on eBay for $40 and purchased that instead. I also found the games I was going to buy from them, cheaper online. If you’re like me and were planning on driving over an hour to visit this store, just don’t. Save your time and money and...

Retroid Games is a legitimate travel destination. I kid you not, my experience there alone could have made the trip from Minneapolis worth every penny, and every second. The staff are not only helpful, they’re knowledgeable. They’re not only knowledgeable- they’re literally experts. Retroid holds everything they do to a higher standard and I’m beyond honored to have gotten the chance to shop there, not to mention the seemingly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see a Panasonic Q in person. I’m a pretty passionate collector, so when I saw products there that I’d only ever merely heard of, I knew I’d found something special. Look, there are a lot of cool shops out there, but for real- don’t sleep on Retroid. Whether it’s games, cards, modern, vintage, or anything in between- this is the spot!

How am I only finding out about this place? After stopping into Burke Street pizza for the first time, the retro signage on the door caught my eye and we had to go and check it out. I was immediately welcomed by a wall of pokémon themed collectibles and a christmas tree decorated with the like. So cute! It was also really neat to see these retro games and consoles that could really take front and center stage. Unlike other used game stores, they really elevated and gave these a more dignified showcasing of value. Had me questioning whether I should be selling my old game boy games and consoles! Seems to be a market for this and I'm glad to see it. Felt like walking into an EB Game store for me. Shows how long I've been around. Sheesh.
