It was a birthday dinner when we visited Cin Cin pronounced (chin, chin). First off, free valet parking is available in this establishment, the parking lot is not huge but I can see it getting crowded due to the popularity and great food in this establishment. The atmosphere is clear, open and well lit. The decor is of Prohibition Era, with speak easy and moonshine memorabilia. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to your needs. You can also place yourself in line online before you arrive. Very convinient and forward thinking. For Starters we had the pretzel and cheese dip that were well made and the cheese sauce was well made. We also ordered a plate of Santorini fries that nearly filled us up due to the very generous serving. After reading the ingredients on the NUTTER BUTTER burger, I had to try it. Chipotle peanut butter!!!! YES please. If you have never added peanut butter with a burger, you have not lived. Leave your preconceived notions outside the door and try something new. THIS BURGER WAS GOOD. My wife being a vegetarian had The DAISY BEAN burger, she was also impressed with the flavor and texture of the garbanzo bean burger. Both entree came with a side so we tried the eggplant Fries. YES you should try it. You can use a break from Potatoes. Since it was my 41 birthday, our very kind server gave me a complementary strawberry shake that is very well made and had fruity pebbles in it. The establishments drink menu has a very wide range. From adult shakes (with alcohol) , classic mixed drinks, selection of bourbon and a wide variety of beer and wine. We will try to do dessert before the meal next time to enjoy the drink menu here. The full menu is posted with this review, not including the daily specials that change daily. All in all Cin Cin is a great establishment that has so much to offer.
Second visit: This time we planned to endulge in their famous adult shakes and drinks. I ordered the salted pretzel dry shake (non alcoholic) and the wife ordered the giggle water. We shared the jailbird jerky, she in turn ordered the mac and cheese from the kids menu and I enjoyed the lentil and sausage soup. Again the service was constantly good and efficient. The food came quick and the meal was served in a good pace. Cin Cin should be in everyone's monthly or weekly rotation.what a...
Read moreMost people would come here for the burgers, but admittedly, I'm not a huge burger fan. Although, I manage to keep coming back!
This place seems to have options for everyone regardless so it was always an option for past coworkers and me to meet for lunch, birthdays (for which they have a special celebration), and of course casual eating...which is how I ended up back here with my family most recently.
The milkshake selection is crazy in that there's a great selection to choose from and you can order them "wet" meaning they've got alcohol in them or have them without. My husband's a huge chocolate milkshake guy so he had to have his. Of course, it was well-received!
He proceeded to order a burger and apple slices for sides. No complaints from him! He thought his medium-rare request was well executed and he ate the entire thing quickly.
There was a kid's menu as well so I ordered from there for our toddler. For $6 we got a gigantic plate of chicken tenders and fries. While she wasn't interested in eating much of it at the time, mostly focused on the fries, we were impressed with the value.
For me, I felt like trying the house marinated beef strips, red skin garlic mashed potatoes with broccoli. It was okay. I had to ask for the meat strips to be medium as a compromise with myself considering that it should have been well-done as a preggo lady. I wish I could have tried it medium-rare the way I usually like my meat. I think it was also the seasoning for me as it tasted a bit over-seasoned. The broccoli and mashed potatoes ended up being my favorite part of the meal! Broccoli had a great taste to it beyond just being boiled/steamed and the mashed potatoes were buttery. Had some left-over beef strips that baby loved afterward!
Cin Cin is a safe bet for most people and because of that, we'll likely come back again...
Read moreI recently visited Cin Cin Burger Bar in Winston-Salem and was honestly disappointed with my experience. I ordered online, and while my food was ready on time for pickup with no issues, the quality of the food didn’t meet my expectations, especially for the price.
I got the bourbon burger cooked medium-rare with a side of macaroni and cheese. The mac and cheese was the highlight of my meal. The spiral macaroni was perfectly cooked, and the seasoning—possibly with white pepper and cheddar—gave it a delicious, fragrant flavor. It felt like thought and effort went into that dish.
The bourbon burger, on the other hand, was a letdown. While the patty itself was cooked properly to medium-rare with a good texture, the flavor was overwhelmed by everything else. The bourbon sauce was cloyingly sweet, drowning out any taste of the meat. The burger was excessively salty, and the grilled onions were dripping with oil, making the burger overly greasy and unpleasant to eat. To make matters worse, the combination of the sweetness, saltiness, and grease left me with a bad aftertaste and feeling awful about 15 minutes after finishing.
For nearly $20 (just for the burger, not including the mac and cheese), I expected something closer to gourmet quality. Instead, it reminded me of the overly sweet and artificial flavor of a McRib, not what I’d expect at a burger bar. The addition of a 2.7% service charge on all orders (on top of a tip) didn’t help matters, as it felt like I wasn’t getting value for my money.
Overall, while the macaroni and cheese was great and the order was ready on time, the burger’s execution left me too disappointed to consider going back anytime soon. For now, I’d give it 2 out of 5 stars—there’s potential here, but they need to rework the balance of their flavors and focus on delivering a better overall...
