Jamali NYC Gallery — Attraction in Winter Park

Buyer Beware!!! We have always been huge fans of Jamali and his work. We met and spent several hours with Jamali, looking at his work and discussing what we wanted. He told us he was going to paint us exactly what we wanted and we agreed on a price. The experience was very hard as he kept trying to lock my wife down by negotiating lower prices. We settled on two pieces and we’re asked by Jamali to write a check, he said he had to be paid so that he could “get started working on our pieces.” Two weeks later, he calls and says the pieces are done and they wanted to deliver them to our home. When they arrived, my wife realized immediately that they were not the paintings on canvas, we were promised, but artist proof prints. We immediately let him know how upset we were and that if they were not going to be painted then we wanted a refund. He told us a refund was not an option, but that we could come into his pick out something that he had already painted. The price is he hit us with or four times what we had agreed upon. Both he and Brian Paredes his manager are very deceptive and cannot be trusted at all. They will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to get your, especially Jamali. We will definitely be exposing all this in the near future. I feel sorry that’s such a wonderful famous artist has fallen on such desperate times, as to cheat the people in his own community. I recently visited the Jamali Gallery in NY and its a visual treat. There is no doubt that the Artist is extremely talented. The prices range from 3-6 figures so the sales people try to access your net worth so they can sell the pieces that will fit with your budget. They have convincing sales people and that is the point after all to sell the Art. Style of the Art is pretty similar as this is not a multi Artist gallery. After the initial contact with the Art consultant and Gallery Director , I did meet the legend himself Jamali. The Artist is very centered, straightforward and pleasant to talk to and super confident about his work. I did end up buying an incredible art work because in all honesty the Art speaks to you itself and it doesn't require selling. My wife and I considering another Jamali painting for my bedroom. This gallery has stolen $35,000 from me. They made shady commitments at the original purchase which caused damage to my pieces. I’ve had 2 attorneys. Jamali & Chris straight up lies about something I have in writing stating the truth.

They now have my art captive. I have paid the entire $35,000.
