Terrible We went there to test our water and get more supplies our first year after opening our pool. They told us that we needed to drain most of the pool and then come back to them for further direction. In order to test the water they have a print out that they will review the level so I asked for a copy of the print out or can I review it and they would not share the copy with me as it was their property! WOW-So I should blindly trust them and drain a quarter of my pool and then come back to then for further direction. I found it strange because when we opened our pool ( thankfully we didn't use them) the pool guy told us to bring water to a pool place and then get them chems. I called the guy who opened the pool ( note we did add and he said that it sounded like they were scamming us.
Maltese wanted us to drain the pool so that way we could have to get a whole bunch more of chemicals which of course would have to buy from Maltese. FYI We did add fresh water which was why our numbers were off we just need chems to level them off not to drain and deplete even more!!
I took it water sample over to Olympic Pool store who are super and shared the levels and actually educated us on the chems as first time pool people we needed. They told us what chemicals we should buy to get our pool to safety level and what amount they did not say anything about draining hundreds of gallons of water!
When I asked them if I need to drain it they were like no just add chemicals to balance the water !
I would not recommend Maltese to anyone it's clear that they're trying to take it inexperienced people and make as much money out of them. Not cool!
The women behind the front desk with the ratty blond hair and wwe vibe was so unbelievably rude and nasty when I asked her for a copy of the paperwork. I get it ---why would she want me to be a smart consumer.
Maybe they do better work on the construction side ( check those yelp reviews -lol) but if you're going to them for pool reading buying chemicals etc. I do not go there unless your experience to know what you're doing and know exactly what you...

They make zero effort to communicate to the customer! We called to see when things can be scheduled, but nobody there returns a phone call or even cares to keep you informed. Forget about professionalism, it's common courtesy!
We had to start calling twice a day, and visiting in person until the owner FINALLY got back to us. For some reason, everything goes through him & his employees can't answer anything. Anyway he said two people were in front of us, and they will "contact us" in the next two weeks for scheduling. Okay cool thanks, just feels good to be kept in the loop.
Well weeks go by... nothing. Started calling them again... nothing. Nobody there communicates anything. And when they finally do, they give you the run-around and treat YOU like the idiot! Finally got the owner on the phone, apparently now THREE people are ahead of us, and he's got no idea when he can install. Of course I was upset and let him know it. His response? "I'm older than you and I know what I'm doing."
I am shocked how this guy does business! First of all, I'm 41 years old, and I run a business. He clearly lied to me about our "place in line" and avoids communication for some underlying reasons that should be seriously concerning to any mindful consumer.
The best part of working with them was GETTING MY DEPOSIT BACK, and not risking my backyard be destroyed by their incompetence. Or never being able to get help from them for pool maintenance or warranty issues.

Read moreI used Maltese about 20 yrs ago to replace my liner the service was excellent and the product they gave me was high quality (lasted 20 yrs) So i contracted them a second time last year to replace the liner again. Unfortunately my experience this time wasn't as great. Firstly they pressured me to install the liner early, April time when the weather is much cooler in nj. The installer they sent had an attitude boasting how he has been an installer for years. Well firstly he tried to charge me an extra $600 to redo the floor under the liner. When i declined he tried to resurface certain areas and did a terrible job at smoothing out the area which caused a tear in the brand new liner. Maltese took NO responsibility and offered to charge (!) me to patch the liner. Soon after, the liner started to wrinkle possibly due to installing in cold weather. I called and called and called no response. Finally they sent someone down at the end of the season. When they saw the wrinkles, they tried blaming it on everything else but the early poor installation. Excuses ranged from the pool not being chemically balanced to claiming the companies changed the formula of how they make the vinyl etc. Sadly i had a bad experience without the company making good...
