We had the most extraordinary experience at Khajana Boutique, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
My sister Abigail—fashionista, bride-to-be, and all-around style icon—was supposed to shop for her bridal lehenga in India. But after breaking her foot and canceling the trip, she tried ordering one online from a random website…and it was a letdown. The fabric, the fit, the feel—it just wasn’t her. She didn’t even want to talk about it, and it broke my heart to see her excitement dim.
So I got to work. I scoured the internet, looking for places we could road-trip to from Boston. I emailed seven boutiques across New Jersey and explained our situation in full detail. While a few responded eventually, Khajana replied within the hour with the most thoughtful, emotionally intelligent message I could’ve hoped for. They didn’t just answer my million questions—they met us with kindness, empathy, and a clear message: Come in. We’ve got you.
And wow—did they ever.
From the moment we stepped into the boutique (which, by the way, is gorgeous), we felt wrapped in warmth. The staff asked insightful questions, tuned into Abigail’s vision immediately, and treated us like family. Every moment felt intentional, personalized, and infused with care. Abigail lit up. She found pieces that made her eyes sparkle. And when she fell in love with a lehenga that was nearly perfect, they offered to remake the top with custom, slightly adjusted silhouette—so it would align exactly with the details she had imagined.
Our visit to Khajana was, hands down, the brightest part of our entire road trip—we left feeling so light, full, and happy. If you’re looking for a place that leads with empathy, style, and...
Read moreKhajana pulled together my DREAM wedding lengha for my Anand Karaj in April of 2025. I selected a beautiful piece off the rack which came in white and asked if they could make it in red. They spent a few hours with me helping me select the piece I was in love with, helped me try each one on, and even went through the color palette with me. They produced a flawless lengha for me and the measurements were accurate and the outfit fit like a glove during my first fitting with them (so I was able to take it home immediately). They did a great job with timing as well: I picked the outfit in July and it was ready by mid-November.
The only hiccup we ran into was about three weeks before my wedding when I went to try on the outfit with my jewelry, the fabric fell out of the zipper of the skirt making the zipper obsolete (better three weeks before than on the wedding day!). I contacted Khajana about this and their initial recommendation was to bring the piece in. Unfortunately, I live a 3 hour train ride away so this was not going to be possible. They then said to take it to a trusted tailor near me and they will refund me for the services. They even offered to speak to the tailor directly so they could ensure the piece was treated with care. Any other place and I maybe would have knocked a star off but because they handled this so professionally and gracefully, five out of five. Would recommend them for all and any of your bridal...

We went to Khajana Boutique to buy an outfit for my sister’s engagement. We found a beautiful designer outfit in the store, and the owner told us it would be sent to India for alterations. When we came back to try it on, it was not the same outfit. It looked like a cheap dupe version of what we had originally picked. The material and embroidery were completely different, but the owner kept insisting that “this is how it’s supposed to look.”
This all happened just one week before my sister’s engagement, causing her so much unnecessary stress. On top of that, we had traveled all the way from Long Island, NY to New Jersey just to deal with this mess.
We asked multiple times to see the original outfit, and while the owner kept saying it was in India, one of her employees slipped and admitted it was actually in the back. That confirmed everything — she’s swapping out the real designer pieces and replacing them with dupes.
To make matters worse, when we went to other boutiques nearby to find a last-minute replacement outfit, every single store told us that Khajana Boutique has a bad reputation for exactly this kind of scamming.
Bottom line: DO NOT shop here. The owner is a scammer. She shows you designer outfits and then delivers fake versions. Save yourself the stress, money, and heartbreak — especially for important occasions like engagements...
