Brought my Jeep vehicle to a Jeep dealer for expert Jeep service. my experience: I brought the Jeep to Hoblit Service for a coolant leak. Blaz was my Service Advisor and he recommended a HD aftermarket radiatorâwhich would take a week to arrive. Blaz referred me to a nearby car rental agency while Jeep was in the shop awaiting repair.
A day later and trying to be efficient by using the waiting period to service other routine maintenance items, I called Blaz and asked if they could also complete: -transmission service (fluid) -tranferscase and axles service (fluids)
Blaz said yes and phoned a couple days later recommending also servicing:
-Rear Main Seal -power steering fluid service -brake line fluid services
Though my driveway indicated zero oil leaks I agreed to his recommendation. In fact I was happy my Jeep was going to have literally every fluid changed and applaud the thorough recommendation; my Jeep nearing 20 years isâŚwell, to use Blazâs words, âspotless.â
And so, the plan was: -service ALL FLUIDS -REPLACE THE REAR MAIN SEAL -install new RADIATOR.
RADIATOR(aftermarket) and REAR MAIN SEAL(OEM MOPAR), out of stock and several weeks elapsed while I incurred rental car costs.
After paying about $400ish+ in rental fees, Blaz offered me the use of a loaner car(free) for the last week. I graciously accepted and returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas(received the loaner with half tank of fuel). On pickup day Blaz was busy so an employee by the name of Regin took my ticket and processed the transaction $3500-3900 and said, âthere ya go, hereâs your keys.â I donât have my receipt in front of me as I write this but it was in that range.
Isnât it usual and customary to go over the 3 page receipt to affirm the complex and numerous itemized repairs? Nope, not the case here. Enough with my old fashion values. Yes, Dealer shop rates are higher BUT I left thinking my Jeep was serviced by JEEP EXPERTS and that I wouldnât need similar services for another 100k miles and that I could hop in and drive with confidence to New YorkâŚright?
Wrong. The very next day I noticed oil spots on my driveway and also the parking space at work. Just to reiterate, prior to any repairs there were noneâchassis, engine bay, interior/exterior kept clean as a whistle but now there was oil dripping on the ground at the rate of about 1tbsp per hour.
I thought the oil mightâve been just excessive spillage during repairs and hoped it would âburn offâ but the leak worsened and I called Blaz after a week. He asked that I return the Jeep and that I would again need to rent a car BUT THAT HE WOULD REFUND THAT RENTAL COST.
At the shop, Blaz asked that I show the mechanic the leak which I did; the leak seemed to drip from the area where the transmission meets the engine (rear main seal location). This is when my frustration was compounded exponentially.
While the mechanic and I were under my Jeep, I asked if the the leak could be from the Transfercase? He responded, âwhat? No why?â I said, âmaybe somethingâs loose after the 4x4 Service.â Again the mechanic responded, âno, I never touched the transfercase; nobody said anything to me about changing those fluids so the new Rear Main Seal mustâve failed.â Worth noting that my receipt indicated 4x4 service (transfercase and axles serviced) at about $700. Very frustrated and I left to get rental car again.
Blaz phoned a week later that the oil leak was a defective auto parts store-sourced aftermarket Rear Main Seal as opposed to a Mopar/OEM seal that had been on back order, and that my Jeep was ready.
I returned rental car and paid $222 before picking up my Jeep again from Regin. I asked her about rental reimbursement and I quote, âdonât worry, Iâll take care of you,â as she trained a new employee and I left thinking that meant refund via USPS. I returned several weeks later to ask that and she responded, âI never said that.â SMH
In summary, 2 years later the Jeepâs at another shop to fix ânewâ radiator. $4200ish Hoblit experience n zero confidence all...
Read moreI bought a used "certified" 2019 Ram Laramie 4X4 1500 truck from the Hoblit Dodge used car lot on 08/09/2020. The truck had 28,012 miles on it and looked beautiful. It fit my needs perfectly. I paid $45,750. It was a bit pricey and at the top of my budget, but I was ok with it. I was comfortable knowing that it was a "certified used vehicle" and it was still under manufacturer warranty for many more miles. I also checked the "certified pre-owned maintenance checklist" and Car Fax (showing 1 tire replaced on 5/02/2019). Everything appeared to be in excellentcondition. (I will come back to the 14 points that this truck scored on the "pre-owned check list" for brakes, wheels, and tires in just a moment). 1 1/2 months after my purchase (09/28/2020), I started to feel a shaking in the steering wheel. Felt like a simple wheel balance issue to me. I was not worried given the recorded maintenance checks prior to my purchase. In an effort to fix the wheel balance, I took my truck to Vacaville Dodge, where they balanced the tires and wheels at the mileage of 29,980 (only 1968 miles after my purchase) finding them out of balance. That balance cost me $80, but I thought it would fix the problem. Only after a few miles, I noticed the shaking was back but it was very mild compared to the previous shaking. So I planned to take the truck back into service for a diagnosis at a later date, but it appeared not to be urgent. Turns out, the maintenance diagnosis was not needed after all!!! While washing my truck wheels on 8/08/2021 (Truck now having 37,000 total miles), I looked closely and noticed that the tires on my truck did not match. They were definitely not original tires. A closer inspection found 3 tires with white lettering that was worn off (curb rub damage) and had been reversed with the black walls showing. The other tire was a complete black wall tire without white lettering. The varied tread depths were significant. The black wall tire also had a lower speed and weight rating (111 S) and the others had considerable tire tread wear with completely different speed and weight rating (113 T). As a result, I took the truck to Americas Tire in Vacaville. They inspected the truck tires and quickly determined the tires did not match in quality, speed rating, or weight rating. I chose to replace the tires with a matching set of quality tires, and the shaking completely disappeared. I kept the old tires to show Hoblit staff as proof if they wish to see them. The "pre-inspection check list" I mentioned above for brakes, tires, and wheels indicated that my tires should match and should be OEM-recommended for size-load-capacity to qualify for a "certified vehicle" This was simply not true with this truck. The tire warranty for these mismatched tires are 65,000 miles, and the tread on these tires appears to only have about 10,000 miles remaining. The only logical definite conclusion that can be made is that the original tires that came with my truck were not on the vehicle when I purchased the truck from Hoblit. They had been clearly replaced with very substandard worn tires sometime prior to my purchase. Given such a blatant situation, lack of truth, poor maintenance "certified pre-owned inspection" quality, and lack of safety concern makes me question the honesty of the Hoblit dealership. I will think twice before ever doing business with Hoblit, and I will not recommend ever doing business with them, especially to my family, work associates, and personal friends. I am very relieved that I discovered these safety concerns and issues prior to anything happening. I hope the Vice President Chad Hoblit, Sales Manager Scott Lucchesi, Used Car Manager Chad Andino, Shop Foremen Salvador Godinez, and my Salesman Jeff Ferraiuolo all get a chance to see this review. Everyone needs to be aware of what has happened here at your dealership.

Read morePurchased a 2015 Jeep Rubicon with a manual transmission.
Working with the sales person I worked with he was great. We ended up working on a very good deal over the phone came down and picked up the jeep.
Couple things I noticed when I drove the jeep. The clutch let out very late. I test drove a few other jeeps before that one and most of them grabbed A lot sooner than this one. This clutch literally grabbed the last inch of the pedal. Also, the spare tire on the back lug nut was loose, and it was about to fall off. And the passenger tail light was falling off as well.
They were able to fix the tail light and the spare tire which I figured wouldâve been caught on the vehicle inspection. But some things get missed.
When I drove the car. The sales guy I was with let me know that the clutch let out late. But also a few minutes later reassured me that they had a three month 3000 mile warranty and if I had any issues with the vehicle, bring it back and theyâll take care of it.
1600 miles later. The clutch completely went out. Called Hoblitt to let them know what happened. Come to find out that their warranty does not cover a manual clutch. Which kind of sucks because the reinsurance of bringing it back in three months or 3000 miles was kind of a nice deal assuming that everything was working well.
This was a $30,000 jeep that I now have to put a $2000 clutch three months.
I wouldâve been better off side of the road dealer than a reputable dealer that I thought would give me a vehicle that would be reliable for more than 1600 miles.
Iâm hoping that theyâll work with me, but they have not gotten back to me.
We will find out
9/24. Never got any response back from the dealership, whether they will help me out or not. Kind of unfortunate because the sales guy that sold me the vehicle told me heâs been working for them for a very long time so when he let me know that if anything happened with the jeep within three months or 3000 miles, they would take care of it. Figured he wouldâve known that clutch that that was about to go out would not be covered. It just is what it is now and that dealership is OK with selling a vehicle that broke down within a couple months. They are very large dealership reputable mechanics, so they knew that the clutch was on its final end. Plus the small laundry list of issues with the vehicle now that I got it into a mechanic to replace the clutch. The front end is falling apart all the tires are old ,Cracked, cupping and damage from loose front end parts. . Half of the fluids are completely dirty and weâre...
