I lived in woodland for my adult life and was a huge fan of the pop ups as Wild Hunnie made her debut a few years back. My momma and I went to several local vaquero stores in napa and she really wanted a hat but couldn’t find one she loved. I moved to TN last year and was visiting for bereavement, and finally convinced my mom to drive with me over an hour to come here for a straw hat that would stun. I had been DYING to see the store front, but i also knew after my grandma passed last week, that my mom needed some personalized service and love. She had the BEST time working with the owner (i think her name was Ale). Momma was raving the whole ride home and was incredibly impressed by the care and quality of products. The hats and boots are personally curated and sourced- hand made in Mexico, and I felt everything we did was thoughtfully addressed. No up sales, no fakeness, all love. We had Ale’s FULL ATTENTION. She dropped what she was doing when we came in and we spent the afternoon together making a hat for my mom’s fourth of july parade and putting together some charms and trucker hats. She saw my wedding photos. She saw pictures of my chickens… Ale became part of the family for a few hours and connected. This is the woman and business I trusted to support my mom when her heart was broken. Wild Hunnie lifted her spirits, and helped her to create and enjoy the first Tuesday without her mother. I have made a trucker hat, a western hat, and my husband has also made his own. There are so many charms, feathers, and options that will help you create the perfect piece. I can’t wait to being my daughters so that we can have a girls day.
