Such a cute bookstore. I'm not a reader at all so I had no idea where to look but the people inside were so friendly and there was something for everyone who reads! I wish I was more into books because the prices were sooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! Most books were like only 4 dollars which is insane to me!!!! Cheaper than a thrift store! :)

If you're looking for a place to spend an afternoon, try Books in Stock. There are book options for everyone, as well as an exceptional rewards program selling books in exchange for store credit. I always find a book or four and recommend sitting down in one of the green chairs to start any book you might be unsure of.

Books In Stock covers a very wide range of topics over two floors, and it covers them with a wide selection of books. Most are in new or almost new condition, and prices are very fair (usually 8-14 dollars). Great little store!

I emailed and spoke with Ben (supposedly the owner) about selling him 50 books. He said he was interested. On Saturday 7/23/2022 I called to confirm and to inquire if Ben was there. The person said he wasn't. I told her that I talked to Ben previously and had about 50 books to bring in. She said, "Sure no problem, you can drop off books anytime.” The bookstore is about 40 miles one way from my house. I packed the books in 4 small boxes because I didn’t know how far away I'd have to park. Upon entering the bookstore with two boxes, I was immediately told that I couldn’t leave more than one box per visit. I told the girl that I had spoken to and emailed Ben about these very books, and he knew they were coming. And, in addition, I had two more boxes in the car. She replied, "It’s store policy; only one box per visit." I said, I just drove 80 miles round trip to drop these off. Again, "It’s store policy; only one box per visit." I said I called this morning and told someone I was bringing 50 some books, to which they replied I could drop them off at any time. They did not mention that there's a one box limit. Again, "It’s store policy; only one box per visit." Since I could not bear to hear that phrase one more time, I left with all of the books Ben said he wanted to buy. Not once did Ben, in an email or phone conversation, mention any limit to books or quantity of boxes, nor did the person who answered the phone.

A little advice from someone who’s dealt with this place . . . If you have some books to sell, simply take them out back, light them on fire, and save yourself the aggravation and waste of time of dealing...

I’ve visited this store dozens of times as a local, and unfortunately, it’s been consistently underwhelming. Most of the books on the shelves are dated — many have clearly been there for years. The romance section? Feels like a time capsule from the 1980s… we’re talking full-on Fabio covers. 😅

They’re also pretty stingy with trade-ins. You won’t get much for your books, but somehow their resale prices stay close to what you'd pay for a new copy. That’s a little hard to justify.

What really stands out, though, is the customer service — or lack thereof. I’ve never had a truly comfortable interaction with an employee. They just don’t come across as very approachable, which is disappointing when you're trying to support a...

Nice environment, great old fashioned, yellow greenish, chairs to sit on if you want a break. But 2 things they need to work on. 1 the bathroom upstairs is an oven. And the most important is their treacherous staircase that has a barely there banister to grab. The banister they do have is so close to the wall that you can’t really grip it til you’re half way down then they stuck a shelf right up against the bottom half so again you can’t grab it fully. They need to put a fully functional banister on the other side of the wall that is clear of obstacles. But if you wanna walk to the back of the store they do have a safer way to the second floor. But...
