Some workers at this library are racist. Decided to go to the library with my mom today and they happened to be closing at the time we arrived. We didn’t know this because we usually don’t go on a saturday. When we got to the door two librarians were at the door. One of them said something and I asked are they closing. The asian woman looked at us up and down and responded “are you the cleaners”? Now I asked a simple yes or no question. We had no cleaning supplies or anything with us that would make some one assume that. I would avoid going to a place like this cause I did not see her ask any other personify they were cleaners. Read moreThey have super weird policies for "children". I recall being 16 and completely denied entra because I wasn't 18 and asked staff one question. This was after years of coming in weekly with my mother. I continued to come when she died abd was able to quietly find resources on my own. There was one particular book that I had seen before that I wanted to check out, but seemedto be missing from the correct spot on the shelves. I asked a staff if they could check if it was misplaced or still checked out and when it would be back. I was instead kicked out. Not only is the library connected to the Cleveland Public Library system (which will allow you to check out any book you can imagine - second only to the Washington D.C. library network), no other library offers more: special readings from local writers, science exhibits, movie showings with free hot chocolate and popcorn, and (our favorite) a summer reading program that turned our children into super readers!
