This hotel is a joke. Very rude workers who are racists and made it plainly clear they do not want black ppl on there property because they do not want there hotel tore up. Absolutely disgusting the GM there along with the morning front desk lady kicked us out because we had a black visitor whom was our cousin. We were here in the first place because we were burying our father. Now the cousin that stopped by is special needs and they stopped him walking in the front door questioned him about why he was there and where he was going he stated I'm going up to my cousins room to jump in the shower so I can get ready for the services they told him absolutely not made him turn around and escorted him off the property. Are u kidding me we paid $250 for a room that was not clean and ur gonna tell us we can't have a family member shower in our room that we paid for so he could be presentable at the calling hours??? Then immediately after that we received a call from the front desk asking us to get out of there hotel room immediately or the cops would be called. The front desk lady said and I quote u think ur gonna bring those kinds of ppl around here to tare our hotel up I think not. I was speechless and immediately called corporate who opened up and investigation immediately unforchanetly for them what they didnt know is that I am journalist for the Akron beacon journal and I will make sure that everyone passing through little old wooster ohio knows to avoid that hotel at all cost. The kicker is after all this happened I wanted to have a conversation with the GM and she flat our refused to give me the time of day. Being a journalist of course I had my tape recorder and video camera rolling the entire time and I have clean clear cut and dry discrimination and slander lawsuit I will filing in the very near future. Just remember you never know who ur dealing with so always be kind and don't profile and harass ppl for no reason especially someone with a handicap whom doesn't understand in the first place. I'll pray for u ladies at the Best Western and I hope ppl read and share our experience so they don't have to suffer the same horrible...
Read moreThe Best Western Wooster is located downtown just minutes away from the college. Much of the hotel seems to have been remodeled recently although there are some spots where it does appear to be dated.
The lobby is lovely and comfortable. The staff is very welcoming. There is a small business area with access to a printer and a library. There is a bar open in the evenings Mon-Sat. We were there on Sunday so I cannot comment on the drinks or service.
The room was pleasant. My daughter loved the toiletries. The beds were extremely comfortable. Each bed also had lots of pillows. There is a microwave and fridge. Instead of a closet there is a pretty wardrobe that contained a steam iron and ironing board. The bathroom was small, but functional. The sink is inside the bathroom so if you have multiple people you will need to stagger bathroom usage.
The breakfast was in a beautiful room off the lobby. There was a coffee station which also offered tea and cocoa. The hot food area was generous. There were biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage patties, and plain omelettes. They also supplied diced ham and shredded cheese for those who wanted to dress up their omelettes. In addition to the standard waffle station, there was oatmeal as well as breads and poptarts for the toaster. They also had three types of cereal, milk, and fruit juices. Although they offered canned fruit cocktail, I would have loved some fresh cut fruit. A generous bounty of food overall.
The hotel has its own parking lot and all rooms are interior. The pool is outside and wasn't heated so we were not able to enjoy it. The price was great and we loved the area. We...
Read moreMy husband and I recently came to Wooster for a family emergency. We decided to stay at this Best Western. My husband and I were completely impressed and happy with our experience here. Helen, the other woman working the front desk (apologies for not remembering the name) and Annette were very nice and accommodating. When we were checking in Helen was very nice, helpful, and comforting. She even gave me hug and said that she hoped everything goes well with my family situation. I have been away from Wooster for awhile and coming to this Best Western reminded me of the small town accommodation and kindness that is not seen very often nowadays. Annette was awesome checking us out. She gave me my print out receipt of our bill and was very friendly and positive. Helen, the other woman working the front desk, and Annette were three of the kindest people I have met and who were genuinely sincere and caring during a stressful time. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Wooster whether it's for fun or for a family emergency. At this Best Western it really felt like a home away from home. The room, lobby, hallway and the dining area were very clean, the music you could here while checking in/out was very peaceful and calming, the ability to use a computer/printer was a great touch. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were very soft. Thank you again Helen, the other front desk woman in the morning (again apologies for not remembering the name), and Annette you ladies were awesome and my husband and I appreciate your sincerity, generosity, and kindness.
We will definitely be back whenever that...
