I am a Wooster native, though I only get back for a visit maybe three times a year. I spent most of my adult life in San Francisco. Coming back to Wooster, I was afraid there wouldn’t be the ethnic, cultural, culinary diversity that I was used to in San Fran. I was very happy to see how the downtown had evolved into a busy business district with a lot of boutique businesses. I saw the Pho shop on the way out of town and just had to stop. I believe it was not too long after they had opened. I went in, and while perusing the menu, I found a local artist having a lively discussion with the owner about Wooster, art, and food. I asked if they had bánh mì sandwiches on the menu. Sadly, they said no. However, the artist hanging out in the foyer said to the owner “ooh, bánh mì, you should do that!” I collected my order of Pho, drove all the way back to Southern Ohio where I currently reside, and it was still absolutely delicious, and wonderful- a real treat. And now, upon revisiting this online site, I see that they do indeed have bánh mì sandwiches now. I would love to think that I played some part in that menu addition. Whether I did or not… go to this restaurant– Please! Vietnamese food is absolutely wonderful. You...
Read moreMy Aunt & I went here after all of the hype about Pho on YouTube. Neither of us had Pho before. I ordered the Pho with Brisket. I admittedly didn't know what I was doing when it came to ordering but none of the staff offered any help when told we were new to all of this. We also ordered spring rolls. I will start off by saying the spring rolls were delicious but the Pho was absolutely disgusting. The broth had no flavor, the brisket had no flavor, I added the cilantro and sprouts which made it worse. I was smelling & tasting cilantro for 2 days. I never want to see cilantro again. Any sauce or anything that was on the table I tried did not help. I have never been so disappointed that I wasted $22 in my life. Just for reference I am not the type of person to leave bad reviews but I can't help to think even by most Pho standards this place would be last on the list. My Aunt was just as disappointed as I was. I did not eat it I took my Pho to go but threw it in...
Read moreWe ordered spring rolls and Saigon meat skewers for appetizers and they were extremely good but me and my child ordered the brisket pho and it was so pungent smelling from all the cilantro it made me so nauseated sadly and it smelled so bad and tasted off, the meat was shaved beef boiled and not seasoned at all, I wanted so badly to eat the pho but I couldn't. The other pho that was ordered was the lemongrass chicken and that was actually light and pleasant and the other dish was grilled chicken with vermicelli noodles and that was yummy. The cute little space was very neutral and no music, which is fine if you like that but I kind of like light music especially when it's music from the country/culture that the restaurant is presenting as theirs. All in all it wasn't terrible far from that but needs some tweaks. Definitely will try again but order...
