To the 2/15 9:30am ER Nurses and Doctors, I was treated here for an ankle fracture. Very bruised and swollen. I get xrays in multiple positions that adds to the pain. After all this I can't get something better than a Tylenol? I don't need anything crazy but when I arrive with 7/10 pain that RISES to 8/10 while I'm in your care, GIVE ME SOMETHING BETTER THAN A TYLENOL! This went on for hours. These nurses and doctors changed their minds at every turn "It's just a sprain. Whoops it's broken. Orthopedics will be in to assess shortly." Finally they end with putting me in a splint that goes all the way up to my knee! Thanks for the crutches, they will work great with this splint not allowing any knee movement. I'm told I'll be discharged shortly so I ask about where the Orthopedic Doctor is "Oh...I don't know. Umm you'll see them after this". Discharge Instructions read to follow up with OAM (Orthopedics) in one week. You geniuses splinted a malleolus fracture for a week straight. We're all very impressed with your North Korean approach to medicine! After all this don't speak to me in your condescending manner just because I'm frustrated with how dumb you are. I'm no doctor but I assume you making your problem into my problem is bad practice. You are supposed to be medical professionals. Get your poop in a group! Sorry I bothered you with my badly broken ankle! The picture attached is exactly one week later while at OAM.

The shift prior I was told that if the pain increased and caused more issues. I should return to the ER for more help. This doctor (in attached photo) was the guy on call unfortunately. He wanted to do nothing but repeat what the doctors earlier did!! Which didn’t work. Then refused an mri saying it wasn’t an emergency. I can’t even walk without pausing every few seconds. Do not go to metro health hospital when this guy is working!!! Should not be in the medical field. Then he tried to get aggressive. He then goes and adds in my chart that I requested his name over the phone and made threats. If telling your staff I’m contacting a lawyer is a threat then so be it.I’ll be contacting a lawyer and the medical board first thing in the morning. Do not go to the ER on third shift at this location!!!

We waited for two hours in the emergency room, and the ER was just getting more and more packed. They said the hospital was full and couldn't take any more people in until rooms were empty. I'm not sure what is going around, but whatever it is, everyone seems to have it.

They deserve a Zero!!! I am Apalled that a physician LIED on her Ed/Medical Decision Making/treatment Plan!!! There was NONE discussed with me with your Resident James who was treating me! I saw him once at the beginning, along with 3 nurses that were in a race to put my gown on, IV in and take my blood pressure ALL at the same time!!! Horrible experience with IV, which I never said a word…never saw another nurse until one came in to do a bladder test?!? I came in with severe back pain(I told my Resident-James, I was on No Pain meds due to the 40 minute plus drive), and would not take any. They put in my report that I was there for pills, or I could get what I want from my Pain Dr?!?! Insulting, to say the least!! If you read my notes from my visit in March from a fall, 7 broken ribs… no pain meds, because I want to be responsible on the road!!! Some Dr’s just peg you a a drug addict, whether you are or not!!! Very sad world/environment people have to go thru! I came in after going to the er at OAM in Muskegon, but took another fall! That, as well as no BOWEL CONTROL(which I made a mess & had to go to bathroom & clean myself), because not one nurse, resident or the dr came into my room! I walked out to desk and asked after about 2 1/2 hours to go home, because I couldn’t handle the pain on the hard plastic chair, I asked for a pillow & blanket when I first got there, I was told “I was heard”…that was a joke! They brought it in when I was leaving! The main Dr came out of her little office she sat in most of the time I was out, and said she would come talk to me.. She wrote in her report that she examined me??? No she did not!!! This Really disturbs me, because she is a Dr, that took an Oath to care for patients and lied!!! I am really pissed off than upset! I told they the other ER to XRays and diagnosed me with a l-2 compression fraction, concerns with it not healing on its own. Ordered an MRI! The U of M Healthwest ER Dr diagnosed me with an old diagnoses Acute exacerbation of chronic low back pain…what a joke! The excersise they sent home would really mess me up. I have unfortunately fallen to my hands & knees because of the ER doing nothing, and my MRI came back…HORRIBLE! I see my back specialist on Friday, and will update then! Stand up for your rights! I was told to call Patient Relations, since 8/30/24… they say they will call back in 3 business days and they haven’t! The are hoping you just go away… NOT ME! I’ll file complaints with the State, Medicare… you have to treat people with...

At 430am Jan 1st, my son was brought here for stomach pain that was lingering for weeks off and on as well as fevers that would come and go. After about an hr of waiting we got a room(good but not great considering ER was dead at this time of the day), my son had been checked briefly then had an X Ray and Ultrasound to inspect internally. He was MIS-diagnosed and sent home claiming it was just a minor 1CM cyst on his liver and it should take care of itself but also then they recommend an MRI and didn't have one for pediatric care. They said we had to follow up with a PCP to then get referred for a MRI. This felt like an insurance based care decision more than what should have been done, which is send him to Helon Devos ER since they were ill-equipped and also had doubts in what they saw.

We were told the cyst likely was causing inflammation of the liver and could be pushing up on his lung and if he did breathing into this device, couldn't recall name but sucking in to expand lungs, it would inflate his lungs and push the inflammed liver down... After being home for 3 hours and doing the breathing with device he then is throwing up violently for about 2hrs. After an hour we call Metro back explain the situation and were told nothing could be advised over the phone. Given that they already misdiagnosed my son once we didnt f around and went direct to the Helon Devos Childrens ER thankfully because they inspected the same X Ray and found it was a 10cm abscess and infection but even worst after they did their own CT scan they found his right lung was about 1/3 filled up with fluid. I can only imagine sucking into the device Metro supplied sucked up this fluid and he was choking and throwing it up as it was dark brown foam. Also, after he was off ventilation they had him blowing out, to break loose the infection that was in his lung, not sucking it in and up. My son within hour had his oxygen drop so low it was then an ICU emergency needing ventilator and put into a coma. He was in there for a week as they tried to figure out the infection and get a targeted anti-biotic. While waiting on this he was on 4 or 5 drugs just in case to kill off anything that could be strain wise. Central line into heart machines and 24hr/7day care and observation. I am happy to report he will make a full recovery but he could have died due to the negligence of this Metro facility. Sad that they didnt refer us to Helon Devos right away if had doubts in what they had saw and likely told him the wrong...

I have used this hospital for my labs and they e always been great. This is my first time going to the emergency room department. Chief complaint was chest pain and shortness of breath. I took my BP at home and it was elevated at 156/98. They immediately took me back to a room and had a lot of medical personnel assisting me. I felt they were doing their job quickly and efficiently and I felt cared for. However. Once everything was placed, I was left alone for almost the entirety of my visit. I received a MyChart notification stating that my labs were normal. After waiting more, someone came in and gave me a cocktail to help with acid reflux which I stated several times I’ve never had. Said she would be getting me ready for discharge??? During this entire visit, My BP jumped to 194/123 and my pulse was sticking between 100-115. Left alone again for a while, then two doctors come in and ask how it worked. I said it didn’t. They asked “Did they tell you the results?” And I said nope. The two team doctors who assisted me at the end were very nice, took the time to explain things to me, and assured me that I would be fine. The only reason this is 2 stars is because of those two doctors. Upon reading my summary report today, a lot of the information is incorrect. Stating that I did not have symptoms that I told them I had and said “patient has improved.” My BP elevated dangerously and my pulse was still not under control. I felt worse when I left. I guess lesson learned, don’t tell them your history with mental health cause as soon as they hear it, they just want you out of there as soon as possible. I’ll be driving across town to a different ED should I...
