LADY GODIVA'S CONSIGNMENT BOUTIQUE — Attraction in Yakima

I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Lady Godiva Consignment, and I feel compelled to warn others about the unethical behavior of the owner. I entrusted this shop with several high-end items, including a beautiful fur coat that had both significant monetary and sentimental value. Unfortunately, the coat has mysteriously disappeared. Now, some items are simply too good to go to a discount store, therefore, her thirty day policy does not hold water on this particular item! On my original visit back to the store to check on the items, she acted like I never brought in a fur coat. She even went over her computer list and guess what, it wasn't on it. Our final words were, she would check on it and call me back. No call came! What's worse is that I was never given any type of itemized receipt or inventory list confirming what I had consigned. I now realize that was a huge mistake. Do no take high-end items to consignment! It seems lack of transparency may be part of her business practice.

If you decide to take items into her, I strongly urge you to: Get a signed and dated list of everything you leave. Do not take her word for it! Photograph all of your items before leaving them. Make sure the photos are time stamped. check back frequently , well before the 30-day window to confirm the status of your items.

I liked The boutique for years really clean and organized and never had a bad experience myself. It wasn’t until recently when I took Some brand named things to sell because I heard some really good things about it from a co- worker I figured I give It a try. But I wasn’t impressed with the way I’ve been treated with the whole process. When my contract was up at the end of the third month I called to inquire on the order and asked if I had sold any of the items that I had taken there to sell because I was never notified. The person I spoke to informed me “there is three items that sold and one item that is still here you can stop by tomorrow and pick up your check an item that didn’t sell”. Went in the next day and then the store owner said “No” you can come back until October until the 4th and then I’ll pay you and you can pick up your item (purse) that was returned to me that had a pin mark in front of other customers. Items are inspected when you take them in and I know For a fact that my purses are well taken care of…. I know things are overpriced in the boutique. I have been a customer and a consigner both for many years with Lady Godiva and I can say I have been treated with kindness, respect and honesty every time I go into the store The employees are so friendly and very helpful if you need assistance in finding something specific you are looking for Kershella, the Owner prices everything very fair and she honors the contract that you sign when you make the decision to consign with her She explains everything in detail and makes sure you understand the terms in the contract I have never ever had a problem and I will always go to Lady Godiva for my shopping wants or needs Thank you Lady Godiva for making shopping fun and affordable again!
