Took my husband here for our 12 year anniversary to enjoy brunch together. We were pretty excited as we’d seen some reviews and photos of the monstrous Bloody Mary (the main reason for going) and the foods. When we got there, parking is very limited. VERY very limited. It is amazingly hard to find a place to park unless you park a block down the road and walk. Once we were able to locate a parking spot and went in, we saw the tables are very tightly spaced together made it difficult for people to go in between tables or come and go or have any kind of private conversation. It felt very cluttered with how tightly the tables and everything were pack together. Everything looked very clean though which was good. We were immediately seated which was nice. The staff are very friendly, smiling and all seemed very clean and well kept. We were promptly given menus but no waters. They took our order and it did not take long for our food to come out. My husband ordered the monstrous bloody Mary which was $28 and I ordered the caramel apple sangria with a stuffed hash brown which was about $30 for the two. They give you the option of top shelf liquor for an additional four dollars or regular shelf liquor. Unfortunately both of our drinks were so weak, we wondered if they forgot to put any liquor in at all. My husband’s bloody Mary was so watered down and weak, it was like somebody just added a splash of tomato juice to water and put them in a cup and melted ice cubes on top. There was no season to it. Nothing. It was really disheartening to see that something that was supposed to look so amazing was so poorly executed in flavor. It should not have been labeled as a Bloody Mary. We essentially paid $28 for freezer snacks with hair on it that had been overcooked on sticks with red water for decoration. My drink was ok but amazingly sweet, weak and not stirred or blended. The bottom like quarter inch of the cup was all Carmel sauce which I had to stir for awhile before I could even drink it. The stuffed hash brown I got was very good though. Large portions too which was nice. That was the only item of the three that was enjoyable. The bill totaled almost $75 and with that price, only to get a cup of red water and snacks on sticks we couldn’t even enjoy, I’d sadly have to say, I wouldn't recommend this place for Bloody Mary lovers or drinks...
Read moreI was very excited to visit after checking out the reviews and photos. We knew it would be busy, so we came knowing that our group of 6 would have to wait. At arrival we found no real check in process. We were told 20 min, that sounded great. As we waited .y the door, a server spilled a trey of water, I reached out and caught the glasses before they hit the ground and I got a shoe full of water. No big deal, I was glad to help. Because there is no waiting area, we decided to stand just outside the front door in the outside seating area because we felt like we were standing over people while they ate. Outside someone checked in on us and let us know he would clear the table we were waiting on. While we waited to be brought to the table, another server sat a recently arrived group at our table. We asked about our table and they moved some tables together outside for us to sit. Our preference was inside, but we rolled with it. While we were sitting a family sitting next to us for up and left. They had been sitting for a long time and still just had water and menus, no I e had taken their order.
A server came and took out order and we waited what seemed to be a reasonable amount of time for our food. Accept for one order, one of our orders was for the Monster Memossa. We all picked at our food and tried to wait, but eventually we started eating. About 10 minutes later it finally came out.
To top it off, a 20% tip was placed on our order. I have no issue with ripping well, but a meal experience were a server dumped water on me, my table was given away, and food was late coming out of the kitchen for one person 20% was a frustrating. I know they were busy, I know they were understaffed. This is an issue of processes and practices. An apology, a thank you, an acknowledgement of the issues would have made this all feel better. None of...
Read moreWhen I originally pulled to the drive through window, I wasn’t so sure how I should feel about my upcoming experience. The prices seemed a bit higher than I would have liked in the moment, and I had had a difficult morning along side my partner. In hindsight, I now realize the near deadly heat was what was souring my mood. However, once I had arrived back home with my food I realized in horror that a crucial component of my partners dish was not there! I leapt back into my car, and headed back. With a near blinding speed I arrived back at the Cafe and requested the eggs Benedict be reunited with it’s dear friend, ham. Not only was I immediately greeted with an apology, they took the husk of what could have been from my hands and took it back to the workshop to be forged into something better. I waited patiently in my car, melting into liquid human. Just as my body was about to run out of sweat to sweat, the drive through window opened and the hostess returned a perfected vision of the California eggs Benedict. My feelings of appreciation would not be subsided, for the hostess let me know they would refund my food for the honest mistake. I insisted they did not have too, but true hospitality knows no bounds here under the blinding heat of the Yakima sun. I thanked them more times than I can count on both hands, and left that little part of the world with a delicious new meal. Understanding of the fact there’s one thing all people in this world love. And...
