Year 36 on the Cape and Pirate's Cove is still the best! We hit the course as it opened and waited about 10 minutes to get on the course. You have the choice between the original course and the newer course (major difference is that the OG course has stairs and the newer courses is handicap accessible-nice work PC).
Our fivesome of three kids and two adults played competitively and only waited for the team in front of us on the first two holes then there was plenty of space ahead and behind. COVID safe protocols in place and signage everywhere for reminders.
The holes were simple yet challenging- from invisible hills to water obstacles to holes in the caves. Choose your own adventure in the double hole or risk hitting it in the water on the 18th for a hole in one!
Our leisurely game took a little over an hour and was the best way to spend the morning. Hoping to get back and play the other course later on this week.
Other important note: they have demolished the Pirate's Cove souvenir shop so no gear, food, gifts, games, etc. Kind of a bummer but I'm sure they make enough money just on the courses! Really wanted a new PC...
Read moreThis is a terrible mini-golf course for 9 dollars per person. Every hole but one is a par 2. There is hardly any variance between holes and most are about 10 feet long; I think there were 3-4 holes that weren't. They had a great idea of basically having two courses in one (you can choose between two paths) to fit more people, but they squeezed it too much and made the experience unchallenging and therefore not fun. The pirate theme is so overdone for mini-golf so that was uninteresting. The winner gets a free small soft serve ice cream. That might've been more worth it if we only had a party of 2.
I can't speak for the quality of the other many mini-golf places, but they're all crowded. I'd recommend going to a different one than Pirate's Cove unless you have small children because they're the only ones that could enjoy...
Read moreNext to Kimball's Farm, it's some of the best mini golf you can do in Massachusetts. Albeit, Pirate's Cove has many locations and is a much larger company than many of the local golfing places around. Although what they're doing, they're doing it well. The course is absolutely beautiful and there is a total of two of them. There are nice pirate facts around the course although I did notice a few typos here and there.
The price point is okay, not great but also reasonable when you remember that it is a tourist location, and the Cape at that. Plenty of parking, staff is decent but not fantastic. Also a little irritating that the "hole in 1" hole that wins a free game isn't randomized like at other Pirates Coves, but is always hole 18.
Overall, it is a fantastic golfing experience and a bonus that it is...
