I really hate to write this because I pretty much never do this to a business because anyone can have an off night. And that’s probably what happened here. I’ll say right up front...the service staff was GREAT. Appropriately attentive, personable, food and drinks came out very quickly BUT...3 of the wait staff we saw frequently (Sunday after the 4th so moderately busy) wore masks but didn’t have them over their nose!! As an RN who knows the seriousness of Covid I couldn’t believe there was no management or someone telling these people to wear their masks correctly! I’m off duty, on vacation and don’t feel like it’s my job to be the public health police. But, you might as well take them off if you don’t cover your nose. We’ve dined at several mid-Cape restaurants both indoor and out and this is the first place we saw that didn’t quite have it together. They did disposable paper menus- great. Tables spaced appropriately- Our personal waitress was awesome and had her mask on correctly. I also observed the bartender wearing hers correctly. Then there was the food. My husband had Baked scallops and his comment (from a guy who never complains) was “mediocre at best”. My Penne ala vodka was barely edible. Same with my martini- the vodka had an odd aftertaste that I couldn’t quite identify. I had my hubs taste because I thought I was crazy and he agreed. Again, you’re not gonna believe it but I swear I’m not a complainer or typical negative review-writer. We’ve been here before, years ago with our kids, and we really really wanted to like it but we won’t be back. Inside felt unsafe and the food just wasn’t worth the price. It’s my hope that if people give some honest reviews - things will improve- I know this place is just trying to make an...
Read moreI have lived on Cape Cod my entire life and have past by this restaurant many times and last night we decided now that the summer crowds have left we would try it. I specifically wanted a 2 lb boiled lobster. Prior to ordering we asked the waitress if the melted butter was 'real'. In the past 5 years ago a lot. of places serve butter flavored oil- it's gross and if you pay $60 for a lobster then real butter should be served. The waitress kindly checked with the chef and she assured me that the melted butter was real and not oil. The lobster arrived and the butter was served in black plastic ramekins. This was done so you could not see that it really was oil. If the container was clear u would be able to see the milk solids. I poured it on a white plate and there was not one fleck of milk solids in it. It was clearly oil as I suspected. It was getting late the food took a long time to come out and the Pina Colada was not drinkable b/c it was made from that Oasis machine with the pre mix and tasted like sweet flavored coconut ice. We don't go out to complain and make a scene so we didn't say anything. My stomach did Summersaults all night because of that oil so just make sure you INSIST on real butter. Hindsight, I wish I had asked for them to give me real butter in a glass container so I could make sure it was real. Really butter does separate, but there will always be some milk solids in it no matter what. Our J1 waitress was nice and it was...
Read moreMini getaway with the fam in Yarmouth. My family and I really love coming to the Cape and we try to come yearly. This year we brought Big Momma which made it extra special! For our first night stay we decided to try The Lobster Boat. Cute entrance. We went early so there was plenty of outdoor seating. The service was great! Super friendly and attentive . Our waitress, Adela, was awesome. Great sense of humor. We didn’t have to wait long for our food which was a plus. We had calamari and cheese sticks for our apps which was fairly tasty. The calamari lacked a bit of flavor but overall, pretty good. I prefer mine with banana peppers and the sweet and spicy dipping sauce. This one came with marinara sauce which was really good. Out of the party of five, my husband is the one who enjoys seafood the most. He order the seafood scampi. He gave it a 3/5. He said it lacked flavor. Perhaps, a bit more garlic? Little more salt? I had chicken Parmesan as did my youngest. I would say it was pretty good. It comes with two pieces of chicken breast. The first piece of chicken was really good but my second, not so much. I don’t know what it was but it just tasted off. My youngest stated the same. I found that so strange. My oldest, along with my mom, had penne with vodka sauce. Both seemed to really enjoy it! The portions were more than enough. Very filling. I’d say it was a bit pricy for what we ordered. Was it worth...
