We, a family of two adults and two children aged 11, just returned home from a street food tour - and we are very impressed with the experience. More importantly the guide, a true foodie fluent in English. From the beginning, she was very professional and made us feel comfortable.
Without rushing, she showed us local food places with excellent food. From the local street kitchen with fried and fermented pork, bbq pork skewers and sweet bahn mi, to a dried food store, over a local beer hall and a restaurant with three different kinds of pho. In great detail, she explained the different courses, how they were made and the religious and family traditions surrounding them.
She had great knowledge of the food traditions of the various regions of Vietnam and explained the differences.
All in all, a most impressive evening and a great tour of the Vietnamese kitchen, suitable for both the newbie and the foodie.

Read moreWe had the pleasure of joining Trang and Mystery in preparing traditional Bun Cha, and it was an unforgettable experience. We started off by visiting a local market and learning about Vietnamese eating, shopping, and living habits. The course was incredibly informative and eye-opening.
The cooking process was a blast, and the end result was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in learning more about Vietnamese culture and cuisine. It was a great way to connect with the locals and immerse ourselves in the country's rich culinary tradition.

Read moreFound Hidden Hanoi on TripAdvisor. They do walking tours and cooking classes in Hanoi - and they are wonderful! The cooking class in particular was so rewarding. All the ingredients are prepped nicely where a guide instructs you to slice, prep, mix, and cooks the meal. There are nice aunties also that help you clean and finish cooking for you. It was a very rewarding experience - highly recommended. Cooking class was $45 per person including all the food, desserts and tea afterwards, and a nice souvenir after.
They are also super responsive by email and it was a breeze to book!
Protip: we went with only 2 people so there was a lot to do in a short amount of time. I think the perfect group would be 4, though 2 is...
