The self-labelled "Vincom Center for Contemporary Art" is large underground exhibition space, saved from being another parking lot. It is is no way an art “center” and the presentation of diascope projected or TV-screen displayed low resolution photos of famous paintings by Claude Monnet and Pierre Bonnard is not really contemporary. The label of the exhibition is “digital” and that is in this case just a joke. Compared with the Magister Raffaello Exhibition (in Oct 2020, in Hanoi Museum), Vincom Art Center has is no way brought the atmosphere of European museums to visitors who mostly don’t have the chance to visit the original places; Vincom Art Center has not archived to give an impression of 100 years old painting to viewers: the photographs are presented in changing mode, unmotivated enlarged or diminish and in mediocre quality, so the process of painting, the paint itself cannot be seen or understand. The cultural, economic and social background cannot be assessed- Art is reduced to exchangeable wall decoration. What a pity. As such a rich company as Vincom is, they could do more to bring insight and understanding of art to shoppers and strollers of the mall.
I hope the next expositon will be better.

Read moreChiaru Shiota is worth visiting everywhere in the world where she has an exhibition. That being said, the 10 (ore more) boats all connected with kilometers of red wool wire is just super spectacular.
But: there is no signing from outside the mall to the entrance of the art gallery, 0 signs. For a high-end contempoaray art gallery I find that disappointing. Then a not very help full gallery assistant, no change of money, etc. I think she was super nice, but not well trained (not her mistake). Than the installation with the white wool yarn was very badly showcased. Cramped in a space with reflecting glass on both sides and badly lighted, not good. Very disappointing.
Then the space with exhibition texts (not in english, QR codes are not a solution to that, sorry) and video (with no English subtitles, why?) Had enough space for the white wool yarn installation, now it rather looked empty and not well used. Also this space was not well lighted out.
For a high end contemporary art gallery presenting such a high end artist, lot of points to improve.
