The Deck House and An Bang Beach, are too touristy, which explains the high prices when compared to other areas of Vietnam. The Deckhouse offers both Western and Vietnamese food, which is quite good, but the coffee could be better, but be prepared for the cost. The waiters/waitresses were slow in taking and delivering the order to the table. In addition, the waiters/waitresses treated the local Vietnamese quite rudely, which is totally unacceptable. The views from the Deck House were amazing, but spoiled by the loud music coming from the bar; furthermore, I asked the waiter to have someone lower the volume, but nothing happened; five minutes later the music was even more loud.
"We're surprised to hear your feedback about the service and the music, however. Our service manager personally took care of when you came in during lunch and assured me that you were quite happy when you left. Our music is not loud at lunch time so this is also a bit confusing to us to hear your feedback.
We do hope you'll find somewhere on An Bang Beach that you prefer and we're sorry that you didn't enjoy your visit after all. :("
Replying to DeckHouse:
Thank you for message. I will address your comment. 1) "...assured me that you were quite happy when you left."
It would be impolite and improper of me to display anger and/or disappointment.
I requested to be moved to another table given the loud music. I did ask a waitress to have someone lower the music, but no action was taken. Suggestion: Restaurant music should be "soft background music".
Ang Bang Beach is just another copy of over priced touristic beaches that are commonly found in Bali, the Philippines, and Thailand. This saddens me at many levels from impacts to the environment to scams to over pricing, all for the sake...
Read moreI recently visited Deckhouse Restaurant by the beach, and while the location is great and the food was decent, the experience didn’t quite meet my expectations, especially when it comes to the service.
When we arrived, we were told to sit wherever we wanted, but after sitting down, the waitress informed us that the table was reserved and we would need to vacate in 30 minutes. There was no indication that the table was reserved when we sat down, and this lack of communication was frustrating. I tried to clarify the situation with the waitress, but she was busy and didn’t seem very responsive, which made things more confusing.
I then spoke to the general manager, who did make an effort to address the issue. However, his initial response was not ideal, and it was clear that there was some miscommunication on how to handle the situation better. While I appreciate that the manager tried to resolve things, it was still an uncomfortable start to what could have been a pleasant meal.
I must mention, though, that the server who ended up taking care of us was kind and professional. She did a great job despite the earlier confusion, and I appreciate her efforts to make our experience better.
I understand that things can go wrong sometimes, but I do believe that clearer communication and better management of reservations could greatly improve the overall experience at Deckhouse Restaurant.
The setting and food have potential, but the initial service needs some attention to make sure customers have a smooth and enjoyable visit from...
Read moreI'd say probably the best beach restaurant in the area. I was starving when I got there so started off with some smoothies ❤️ the tropical fruit punch is what I got to start with and the purple drink you see in pictures is the very berry smoothie. Both of them are really good and filling. Another group favourite was the pina colada, which was rich in coconut cream, though I prefer more pineapple flavour to it than what it was. The decorations and presentation of food and drinks were amazing and beautiful. 😁 For food we started with my all-time favourite calamari. Breaded deep fried calamari goes well with the tartar sauce they give. We also got Fish & Chips and Fried chicken, both comes with 4-5 pieces its good to share with everyone if you get a couple of different items. The staff members understand and speaks English well and know their menu items properly, which came in handy when I wanted to know about the herbs they use (due to allergies) and adjust the spicy level to our liking. When you go down to the beach from the restaurant, they have arranged beach chairs with umbrellas for their customers to lay down and relax by the beach. I thought that was a good addition! Overall, one of my favourite places in Hôi An - An Bang Beach. 🔥 Uhh almost forgot the oreo milkshakes 😁 they were super...
