Lady was extremely rude. Lots of rules. Cannot put side table beside chairs, if you want lunch you can’t have it at your beach chair you have to go sit in the restaurant. If we wanted to order a cocktail and some beers the chairs would cost $100k… she literally told us we should go somewhere else.. so we did… we went to CHAY down the beach - 2 days in a row. We had 2 lounge chairs under a palapa with a shower directly behind us. They were happy to put a table we could actually use for our drinks & food between us. Owner happily served us beers and cocktails all day long and served lunch to us at our beach loungers. She Did not charge a thing for the chairs. So happy the rude owner of the Beach House and Bar sent us away. We found a much better spot on the opposite side of the access to the beach UPDATE: owner response denies this occurred and was my mistake rather than taking accountability for treatment toward potentially repeat customers. We were there Tuesday March 4 at about 11 am. Every poor review the owner claims it’s the customer mistake. Our issue was having to pack up our stuff and leave our chair to go eat in a restaurant when we just wanted beach food with our toes in the sand- not that we were not willing to order food… the main issue was how rude the staff was. I specified chairs (plural) and stated 2 so the price quoted as $100k VDN for chairs (plural) correct. I won’t be changing my review per the owners request. They need to be changing the treatment toward customers and stop telling them they should go somewhere else… so we did go elsewhere and are happy we found a spot that welcomed us… went both Tuesday and Wednesday all day and spent over 1.3 million VDN at CHAY that you turned away. no problem- unlike at Beach house CHAY restaurant treated us nicely and we spent $$ all day with them. Everyone happy. If we return as planned next year as regulars at this beach it won’t be The Beach house we go to every week.,, it will be CHAY. At an average of $600k a day for expats staying 3 months near Hoi An that adds up for...
Read moreI was initially told I could buy drinks and then use the sun bed for free, which I did. I was then told I needed to buy lunch, which, reluctantly, I did. I then returned to the sun bed, only to have a member of staff approach me 3 times (including chasing after me as I left) asking me to pay for the sun bed. Very frustrating experience. I won’t be returning to this restaurant and will advise my friends against visiting too.
Update: I am even more irritated after seeing the restaurant’s response to my review trying to pretend I ate somewhere else. It was definitely the same restaurant that I had lunch in. The reason I know is because I took a note of where I was eating to avoid going back there again. I stand...
Read moreWe (6 people) came for dinner on a Saturday night. We had ordered drinks and dinner with only 1 other group in the restaurant. 3 more groups came in and all received their meals before us. It then took them 75mins to bring our meals out 1 at a time over the 75min period. They also had gotten 2 out of 6 meals incorrect which we were made to feel like we had gotten it wrong. We are Australian guests and they seam to give far more consideration to the Vietnamese people. We had only chosen this restaurant on there google star reviews which was 4.8...
