We just got home after spending about 7 hours wandering through the tour. I think that alone is the best endorsement I can offer, as I can't think of anything else that has held my attention continuously for so long. The experience began even before entering the building, when a gryffindor-masked parking attendant chatted for a moment regarding our Harry Potter themed bear. After a short walk to the entrance we passed quickly through ticket checks and security (a fast but thorough bag check and metal detector) and gained access to the main atrium. This contained a small cafe, as well as a food hall serving, somewhat disappointingly, standard museum food alongside a more exciting selection of film-inspired pastries. The food itself was good and not extortionately priced, but we had hoped that at least one of the main meals on the menu had featured in the books and films. The tour itself begins with a short overview of the films and their marketing, before being ushered through two short films. These are pretty much the only guided sections of the tour, after which the experience is mostly free flow. They're a little cheesy, but still fun and feature a handful of the lead actors from the films. Without too many spoilers, the ending of the second film was legitimately an incredible experience. The self-guided portion of the tour passes through several sections, from Hogwarts itself to the Forbidden Forest and Platform 9 3/4. After this point there is a small train-themed gift shop and a restaurant serving hot dogs, burgers and the famous butterbeer. Opinions on butterbeer tend to be like it or loathe it, so I'd suggest only buying as many as you'd want for the souvenir glasses, and grabbing a few bottles at the gift shop at the end if you find yourselves wanting more. Also note that while the midway gift shop claims some of its items are exclusive, staff at the final gift shop have some "secret drawers" where they can find them if you change your mind. The tour then continues through the creature shop and animatronics, then into Gringotts, Diagon Alley and the artists' studio. It finishes with a rather incredible surprise which I'm definitely not going to spoil here, but any fan of the books and movies will love it. The gift shop comes at the end of the tour, and is about what you'd expect. They have a wide range of Harry Potter merchandise priced rather high, but in generally good quality. A lot of what they sell is also available on the online store or in the shop at King's Cross Station, with a discount if you happen to have a gold membership. Overall, it's a wonderful day out and definitely worth a visit.

Great place for any Harry Potter fan, big or small, young and old who can manage too much crowds and noise. Extremely overcrowded 😶 please add opening hours for Autistic, Asperger.... people.. Add Silent rooms.. Offer noise suppression headsets for such people.. When buying tickets we had to choose particular slot to avoid crowds but it was not checked, people went inside immediately (no matter of time) We appreciated a lot of benches one could rest on.. Comfortable shoes is a must. I would suggest to make it more attractive for children, for the future think about expanding studio by adding attractions like Legoland, trains, carousels, roller coaster, splash zones.. Turn passive Harry Potter studio to adventure Harry Potter park. Also ticket could be valid for 2 days because it is simply too much for one day.. Smaller children got bored very quickly. It was possible to take "passport" and collect 7 stamps over the places.. It would be great if a child gets some reward after filling it.. Eg small keyring.. Admission is so high, a keyring for free would not bankrupt the studios. Food is very pricey but still huge queues to buy it. Easy to get to the studio. Take a train from Euston station to Watford junction. Outside you will find long queue of people waiting for shuttle. It is for free if you have ticket to Harry Potter studio. Vice versa from studio you can take a shuttle to the railway station. We had to wait for the shuttle for ages on the way back.. There were no benches at all and hundreds people with children in queue.. The Harry Potter studio itself.. There were great parts, some boring parts.. Some parts we simply could not get through the crowds.. Our asperger son could not cope with noise and amount of people, he just sat down on the bench and when we moved to another area, he moved to another bench.. Overall it was fine.. but it did not fulfil our expectations, not because of amazing display of huge creativity of Harry Potter creators.. but because of crowds. The gift shop was amazing, extremely large, split to sections.. Extremely expensive.. We did not buy anything but I appreciate the articles looked more continent like quality than chinese one time usage quality

Honestly what an experience! We pre booked tickets 3 months advance for Hogwarts in the snow and we were only able to source evening tickets though I’ve heard you can sometimes buy cancellations close to a date you want to visit I wouldn’t chance it. As many people have said the studio tours is not actually located in London so if your on a London visit and your hoping to pop in you’re going to have to book transportation to Watford. The parking here was ample and easy to get to and FREE! Upon arrival you show your ticket to confirm you’re there for the tour and they grant you access to the parking lot. Walking to the studio you’re greeted outside to actual chess pieces from the movie. Once inside you go through a quick ticket check and security and then you’re inside! There is a Starbucks, a small food area and the first large shop when you enter. You’ll also have an opportunity to go to the shop when leaving so don’t worry too much about visiting it prior to the tour. You entre and you go through two small taking bits and then are entered into the great hall. Brilliant and so much to see but this is the one bit of the tour that is timed. Once you’re in the rest of the tour you can take as much or as little time as you want. I suggest grabbing a passport by the Gryffindor common room cause you’ll have a chance to collect different embossed stamps. The staff are also incredible and full of knowledge. TOP TIP. There are several gift shops through the tour there could be items in the gift shops in the tour that you cannot get at the large gift shop at the main shop at the front/ end of the tour so do not hesitate to buy an item if you really want it while you are looking around.

- SPOILER FREE IMAGES - Before I start my review, I'd like to highlight where I am on the Potter fan scale. I am not a super fan. I've enjoyed the films and I haven't read the books, YET. I am a fan of film and the process from concept design to the big screen. The studio tour is fantastic. I genuinely had a few moments where I had goosebumps so I can only imagine the level of impact this will have on the adults and children who absolutely love the universe this world is set in. The majority of what is on display is original from the films. They show you everything from greenscreen effects, animatronics, and even the pets from the films. If you're thinking of taking your children but not sure whether they'd have the energy for it, do not worry. Although we casually walked around it in around four hours, there are plenty of opportunities to sit and toilets available. There is a midway point where you can stop for some breakfast / brunch selections. It is a little pricey but it is reflective of any type of event of this scale so I am not going to judge this experience on that. If you're saving the pennies for the gift shop then bring along a picnic but be prepared to be guilt tripped into buying the butter beer from the Potter-heads in your group. I came here thinking that this would be a once in a lifetime experience and had seen no need to want to come back but now I have experienced it, I was wrong and will definitely be back again. APPARITION!!!

OMG, this place is worth every single knuts! First about the booking: If you plan on going, get your tickets at least 2-3 months in advance! We didnt and were very lucky, that we got some on short notice. So if you didnt get any, there is still a small chance, that they release a few more some days before. How to get there: You can come by car or as we did, use the public transport. There are trains going from London Euston to Watford Junction and from there, there is a free Knight bus every half an hour. I really enjoyed, that the place is not a HP themed park, with rides and stuff, but more like a walk through the real sets. They turned the set places into a walk way, where one can wander and wonder through the history of films 1-7.2 After every turn, another place amazed us, stepping from a movie theater into the great hall and many more. Throughout the walk, there are many dedicated and kind staff, who seem more likely to be HP nerds than actual staff, but they know a lot of background stories, so definetly ask them. There is a place for food and drinks at the beginning and about half way into the tour. The recommendation for the tour is around 2,5-3 hours, but it took us nearly 5 hours to walk through the whole thing and we didnt even ride a broomstick or look at every detail. In my opinion, this is the real deal in London, so if you have the chance to go and are even only slightly into HP, it is definetly worth to go!

A must go to places for kids and adults alike. The place is easy to find wit lots of parking within close proximity to the entrance. Most approaches will include the M25 which can be extremely busy in this particular area (do give allowance for such traffic). There is also the option to take their bus from central london, more info can be found on website. Tickets should be booked as early as possible ( even months before). We visited the place at 1600 and exited by closing time, 2200, which coincides with the last bus to london. Do take a phone battery power bank because with the amount of photos and videos that you will take you will end up with no battery before half way. For food and drink you will have opportunities before you start the tour and midway. There are vegan options all over and prices are similar to typical English takeouts. Souvenir outlets are also spread over the studio and varying from photos and videos to sweets, wands, cloths to luggage and many other unimaginable merchandise. The sets are jaw dropping and gives you a clear insight into the amount of work and thousands of people involved in bringing the wizarding world to life.
