We went to studio kitchen with friends about two weeks ago on a Saturday night. My wife had been several times and said she had a great meal and service was great. The food itself was good except the pasta with chicken. The chicken was a bit dry. Other than that great. The service up to about 8.30 was great, after that it was terrible. When the main course was finally cleared away, we decided to order dessert and then we had to ask for the desert menus. Eventually they girl came over to ask us what we wanted and we asked if one of the deserts had nuts because my wife has an allergy. She didn't understand and the male server had to come over and when we asked him, he said he didn't know because the packaging had been thrown away!! So this is a restaurant that serves food and they have to know which of their foods has nuts!!! Absolutely ridiculous. Anyway, we finally ordered desert and half an hour later we were still waiting. I shouted over to the server, where's our deserts. I got a blank look and suddenly the penny dropped, he had forgotten to put the order in. The deserts I have to say were very nice when they eventually came. So to summarise. Absolutely no concept of allergies and knowing what's in your food and the service was atrocious. Other than that it was OK. I would only recommend going because my wife said she had good meals there. Maybe it was on off day or something. Nonetheless, go there and try it. Would I go. NO, I wouldn't go again, especially because of the poor service and not knowing allergy information. If someone had a serious nut allergy, I dread to think what...
Read moreI was just disappointed. Service was not up to standard and I would rate the food poor to average.
When we arrived we were greeted from behind the kitchen line and told to take any table. We picked one and sat down. After a while, a lad came over with some menus and dropped them in front of us without a single word. Bizzare!
Then another chap came over and asked us for our drinks order which was fine.
Then we ordered food. Start and then mains. After an absolute age, all the food arrived at once. Maybe that is how they do it here.
King Prawns were really overcooked. Adana kebab was really overcooked and quite unpleasant. My wife had pasta which was also very average.
Pizza that also came was not too bad.
Decided not to get dessert and went to the Coop next door to get some treats.
The place has been done out really well. I looks fantastic. But the fact it was virtually empty at lunch time (1pm) on a bank holiday tells a story.
I hope these folks sort it out. There were so many idle staff while we were there so I don't know why the food took so long and why it was sub-standard.
Not worth the...
Read moreI went there for breakfast with my friend who I hadn't seen in a very long time so we were looking forward to a nice breakfast and chat. The breakfast was good and arrived quickly but sadly the service was poor. The lady who served us did not ask us how we wanted our eggs cooked or what bread we would like. When I suddenly remembered the bread (I can't digest white bread) I approached her and she got rather annoyed with me and asked what bread I would like instead of giving me options! Then she said that she needed to quickly tell the chef I wanted brown bread. I asked for hot milk with my coffee but was given cold. Our breakfast arrived and our eggs were fried. By this time we really couldn't be bothered to say anything and decided we would not leave a tip. I paid the bill by cash and waited for my change, when the change arrived it was completely wrong! There was no apology, we got our correct change and left. Quite sad really as this place is so convenient and local to us we would have used...
