They don’t have adequate info on their products and if the size or some other info was lacking, they won’t allow returns without a great cost to you. Bad company. Overrated in the reviews. The food storage bin was not adequately supported with info, and to add to that, it is a made in China, not Canada. The sham of saying they are a ‘Canadian company’ just means dropship retailer reselling factory knockoffs.
Plus the “3-clad” “Meyer” pans are an overpriced sham. The lid doesn’t close ‘firmly’ at all and food spills all over even at low heat because lid is rubbish. The pan or pot is just normal stainless steel jacked up in price. What a bunch of thieves.
Edit: Their response below is a sham. They have responded so as to make themselves seem professional. Fact is, I have already been back and forth with them to please take back unopened just delivered items and they replied again and again that I should pay return shipping complete with tracking and insurance and they would then take a look regarding refund. An order that I already tried to cancel midway and which had just been delivered?! Paying for return shipping from my end for an order I actually tried cancelling in the first place is great financial loss and waste of money we don’t have; whereas for this hypocrite company, there likely exists some wholesale postage agreement.
“Williams Food Equipment” is a rigid, expensive company and teaches one not to have anything to do with sellers in Canada. The so-called ‘meyer’ pan is exactly subpar. IF I had bothered to come to this part of google reviews, I would have steered clear of this company. Now I am out precious cash with an overpriced ‘3-clad tight lid’ pan and a large bin for which I have no use as its parameters are all wrong. PS: I just found the right bin with well provided info on inner and outer measurements and it is on, you guess, it, Amazon, which is where I should have gone in the first place. But I wanted to support ‘Canadian company’. You are better off...
Read more2018-12 Update I'm beginning to notice with my orders that often items listed as in stock are actually on back order (even though I called in beforehand to confirm their stock numbers and was told they had four). They are posted as available in anticipation of their short arrival. From a customer perspective, this means it ships out to me later than anticipated (in this case, it is 5 days until Christmas Eve). While I understand this provides an opportunity to not miss out on sales, it is somewhat of a dishonest practice - allowing the customer to make payment, then notifying the customer that it is on backorder and hoping that they would wait and not asking for a refund/substitution. What I presume is that if they're out of stock and only when a distributor has not yet shipped the items, then they would be listed as out of stock. I phoned to confirm whether or not their system was automated or if they had to manually manipulate the website to reflect inventory status. They confirmed that they have to do it manually.
Original Review: As I live far away, I could only shop online. Customer service was great. They reached out to say certain items were on backorder, even though it had been listed as in stock online. Apparently, the supplier themselves had the items backordered from France. Communications were prompt whenever I had questions or issues, and the online chat option was also convenient. Service online and on the phone was friendly, patient, and committed to making things right. That friendliness really goes a long way because it made me want to come back and make another order. That and the prices are always very competitive, even when other stores and online...
Read moreWilliam Food Equipment do have excellent deals and sales with a catch, they don't have the product on hand. They place orders with the manufacturers.
People who are happy with their business interactions are the lucky ones where Williams actually stock those items.
If Sandra tells you that your online order is on a backorder and will be available in a week or two, you should just cancel your order. Who knows when backorders will end up being filled. The arbitrary date they give you gives a sense of hope that you just have to wait a week or two before realizing that the backorder has been bump to a further date. Save this hassle of waiting weeks to months before receiving your order. Sandra has told me that All-Clad and Vitamix product backorders keep having their availability date bumped to a further and further date.
For those who decide to place orders with them online. Email Sandra IMMEDIATELY to determine if the product is on backorder or not. Alternatively, you can give them a call about the availability, but from other reviews I've read they would say they have the item in stock and when they go to order online, there is no stock available. I have regret waiting 5 days after placing my order before contacting them for a follow-up on my order. I could have gotten my refund by now.
Just an FYI, William Food Equipment will take your money right away with zero service provided. (I have placed an online order through Vitamix and paid via PayPal. They did not take my money until the order was shipped.) According to their website, it will take 3-5 business days to see a refund if paid via PayPal. 7-10 business days to see a refund if paid via...
