My boyfriend and I were excited to try this place as we heard it just opened, but we were left with utter disappointment.
Upon arrival, there were 4 people ahead of us. The couple who were placing their order (a young male and female) seemed to be confused and had questions about ordering. This is completely understandable as my boyfriend and I assumed it was their first time just like ours. My boyfriend and I began to browse the menu until we heard the worker (young asian female) become frustrated with the first couple and ran to the back mid conversation. Before disappearing, she turned back around and stated “take your time! There’s not like there’s a huge line behind you!” The couple then turned around shocked at what occurred and stepped aside for the next couple to place their order. The first couple eventually left. Seeing this customer service interaction, my boyfriend and I decided to leave as well. They just seemed very unwelcoming after that.
My boyfriend and I also noticed that only one worker was taking orders even though there were two other workers. I do feel that one of the other worker could have come out from the counter and taken orders on paper before placing it into the POS system (this is what I would’ve done as I also work in the service industry). That way, this would eliminate customer order time, and they could get started on some orders instead of standing there doing nothing while this interaction took place.
In addition, the menu itself seemed quite confusing. I looked online and saw a combination of ice cream flavors paired with toppings, but on the menu, it didn’t state any. It also didn’t state whether toppings were an additional charge and how much they would be.
Overall, there are better ice cream establishments in Windsor that are much friendlier and efficient.
UPDATED: I ordered the classic waffle dessert and was shocked with how stale the waffle was. It was rock solid when I tried to break into it with my spoon (see video provided). Additionally, it was so dry and bland. If the dessert was genuinely enjoyable, I’d have no issue paying for it, but this is barely edible. Overall, I would not recommend this dessert spot and all the negative reviews...
Read moreReally off putting first experience. Came in, asked for 12 mini gourmet donuts. Asked for 2 of each flavour (6 flavours x2 = 12) the girl working did NOT understand this and asked for clarification multiple times and then finally said she understood but we knew deep down she didn’t. She went to the back and proceed to warm up our donuts.
As we were waiting, she came back a few min later telling us we couldn’t do that many flavours. We decided to just do the standard mini donuts. Her colleague came and said they had already started warming the donuts and that it was their bad for not communicating that it was 3 max flavour. Then we decided on 3 flavours and were asked to choose 3 different dips. Although the colleague was trying her hardest to be professional and courteous I could tell her patience was already wearing thin behind her customer service voice. Literally nothing was explained to me, how am I the problem?!?
It was at this point one I saw from my peripheral of the girls looked at one another and took a deep breath, brought her fingers together and lowered her hand as if we were stressing her out.
Not once did we cause a scene/expressed frustration but we were genuinely confused as to where their internalized frustration was coming from?!!? At this point a giant line was forming behind us and we decided to leave.
Please train your staff. All we wanted was 12 donuts that we will buy elsewhere. I hate writing long negative reviews and it takes A LOT for me to write one but your staff...
Read moreVisited the place with my group, we had ordered more than 5 different items and here's my actual honest review hoping that it can help the store to take it as a feedback and can work on it. Good luck! The topping options are great; a great idea to serve customised icecream with toppings but the icecream quality needs serious improvement overall and the prices omg! We paid way more and got disappointed. Chocolate strawberry cup: Horrible quality of chocolate used and strawberries were just frozen and icy chilled. Disappointed as Canada has an extensive market of chocolate products to be used which would taste way better- made my throat itchy. Hard scoop icecream (Mango): Didn't taste fresh mango flavor but instead, felt like some syrup or essence was used - Disappointed because we have such good mango flavors at DSpot, PC Mango ice cream, Haagendazs, etc. and those feel more fresh in flavor. Razzle: Good but the vanilla ice cream used feels low grade as compared to the excellent quality of vanilla sold at DSpot, McDonald's, CostCo, etc. The concept of razzle is same as Tornado at DSpot, quality improvement can make it better. Le Rocher icecream in Cone: Good Skor icecream in Cone: Worst- Didn't feel like it was Skor at all. Some icecream with milk chocolate: Just like I mentioned above, the quality of Milk chocolate and its taste felt very low- could...
