Lina's Tango Guesthouse is a beautiful sanctuary in San Telmo - a safe haven that I looked forward to returning to every night after dancing at milonga. Upon arrival, I interacted with Francisco, who was extremely friendly and helpful regarding money exchange and navigating the immediate area. Later in my stay, I ran into Lina herself. She is is a kind, welcoming host. The images on the wall showing past guests say it all about this place; it is a guesthouse full of joy and love. I need to make sure I come back to Buenos Aires at a time when Lina has a courtyard party at her place! The room is basic but has everything you need. Inquiries for towel or bedding changes were addressed instantly. The guesthouse is close to many great food, cafe, grocery, transportation, deli, fruit-stand, laundry, and tango lesson options. In short, the location is great. The shared kitchen has everything you need. You can save a lot of money by preparing food in there and eating it at the large communal table in the courtyard. To me, this was way better and in a more beautiful environment than some restaurants that I went to in BsAs. This place is on a road instantly recognizable to taxi drivers, so you can get back late at night without a hassle. Also, it is close to Independencia subway station. If you want an awesome host, a clean bed, and a cool, unique stay, I encourage you to stay at Lina's Tango Guesthouse. I will certainly stay here again when I come...
Read moreI am so glad I stayed in San Telmo. Lots of local life. And specifically I’m glad I stayed with Lina and Francisco. They were helpful with logistics in advance and had my room ready when I arrived. Lina invited me to a milongo with her and friends-I was to tired from my flight but I should have gone. ||Breakfast is simple-coffee, croissant, fruit juice and one morning eggs. One morning we sat and chatted for about an hour. It’s right by the San Telmo Mercado so great for lunch, and a short walk to plaza Mayor and plaza Doreggo. ||The outside is bland and modern but don’t worry-you enter a wonderful old courtyard. I would definitely stay there again. A real find at a great price.||I should have taken a...
