La Sofia Apart & Wines — Hotel in Mendoza

Pros: beautiful apartment. Nice kitchen and good sized bed, especially if you’re tall such as myself. Nice location, near lots of restaurants.

Con: communication and air conditioning. We arrive and it’s 100f in Mendoza. The person who met us turns on the ac and we leave the room, expecting it’ll be cool when we return in a few hours. It’s actually hotter when we come back. I reach out to the manager and her suggestion is that we go to the rooftop jacuzzi to cool off. We wait another hour and I complain again. This time she doesn’t respond but miraculously! The ac starts to work. After that it cooled down and I wasn’t in a puddle of sweat.

I leave 2 stars because of being ghosted after my second complaint. I wasn’t demanding but if I’m paying $90 to stay someplace nice vs a dinky hostel, I hope you can do a better job of communicating if there is a problem. This is a must stay. From the very start we were warmly welcomed by Marcela with a bottle of her own organic wine ( which is lovely by the way). The apartment was modern and clean and had more space than we needed. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and wanted to make sure we had a great stay. Marcela recommended some splendid wineries for us to visit and her colleague organised us a private tour. It was a fantastic day with food and wine to die for. Lovely modern apartment in a great location in Mendoza. This is not a hotel - it is a serviced apartment but the room gets cleaned daily and coffee replenished. The place is well equipped to enable you to self cater simple meals and breakfast. ||Very comfortable and spacious. Rooftop is a lovely location to take in the mountain views. Walking distance to cafes and shops and easy to get taxi or public transport nearby. ||The owners went out of their way to make us feel at home and accommodated both an early check-in and a late check-out which was really appreciated by us. ||Highly recommend this apartment.
