My husband and I spent two nights at the Internacional before the house where we would be staying became available. We chose this hotel because it was right in the centre of the city and because it was a budget hotel, having paid 60 US dollars per night including breakfast in the summer high season. We booked it directly with the hotel, without intermediaries and asked for a room on an upper floor with a view to the lake. We got it. ||We arrived at the hotel from the airport by taking the local bus, which runs every half hour to the centre (you can pay cash or use a Buenos Aires transportation card (called SUBE). After a 20-minute ride, we got off at 400 Moreno Street and walked with our luggage the three blocks from the bus stop to the hotel (down one street to the lake and two toward the Civic Centre). No need to pay for a taxi.||The room was a triple, the view was partial but lovely, everything worked fine, the sole receptionist was knowledgeable and helpful, the breakfast tasty and included scrambled eggs made to order. We are very pleased with our choice. It's a 2-star hotel, not a 5-star hotel, so there might be the odd chipped drawer corner or scratched wall painting, but the lights worked, the LED TV with cable signal worked perfectly, the bathroom had great hot water, the curtains, towels and sheets were not worn out or torn. Good wooden coat hangers and plentiful to boot.||The reason why the hotel is not rated more highly is that it has no ground floor lobby. You enter the building via a shopping gallery, not very appealing, and get to a glass door where you find a small counter, a staircase leading to the first floor and two elevators. That´s all you see upon entering. The first floor holds the lounge, with comfortable armchairs and a bar offering coffee and beverages, a desk with two computers with Internet service (there is Wi-Fi in the lobby but not in the rooms) and a restaurant which serves dinner for those who choose bed and half-board (breakfast and dinner). ||The hotel is situated two blocks from the Civic Centre, the central meeting place for Bariloche. It is one block and a half from the lake, and right next to McDonald's. There are restaurants galore for you to choose within a radius of three blocks. Chocolate shops a minute away. Do try Mamushka's, and Rapa Nui for chocolates, hot chocolate and ice creams. Both a block away.||To conclude, other than the lack of an attractive entrance, the International is an excellent choice for budget travellers who will not settle for...
Read moreEven though it was hard to connect to the Internet, I was finally able to do so and the connection was rather fast. However, notice that it doesn't reach every room of the hotel, thus it work great he hall. Something I really disliked was the service. , not the room service but the attention given at the reception and during dinner. At the dinning room there were several tables uncleaned, even quarter an hour after they were not in used. At the reception I was not even told how to...
