Scenic Milk Bar — Restaurant in Queensland

My hamburger and milkshake were good. Just what you would expect from this sort of place. The outstanding part was the staff. The young lady that took my order greeted me with the loveliest warm smile. Really made me feel welcome. Then as I was waiting I had the opportunity to observe a different staff member training a young man who was clearly a new starter. This young lady was clear in her instructions of how to do what might seem to be the simplest things to many people (crumbing fish.. wrapping a chips order) but if you don't know of course you need to learn. She also was very respectful in her delivery of her training, not at all condescending or rushing. If I were in a business requiring "people facing" staff, I would poach these two if I could. I have been buying food from this place for many, many years, and mostly it has been great. Lately the standard has really dropped and last night really hit rock bottom. We got four hamburgers which were good, but the $5 of chips and 4 potato scallops were disgusting. Honestly there was about a coffee cup sized serving of chips and the worst potato scallops I have ever seen, these were all put in the bin as no one felt like risking eating them. Very disappointing. You might be able to get away with serving it to travellers, who are not repeat customers, but it definitely will...

Absolutely fantastic family run local business and always so legitimately friendly. All the staff here are so welcoming and the food is very good. I’ve been here a few times now and have never been disappointed (consistency at its best). The chips are cooked to perfection, fluffy on the inside, crunchy on the outside and a perfect amount of chicken salt. That also goes for the potato cakes/scallops (lets not get into an argument of what they are called haha).
