My experience was amazing. I stayed in the Superior King room called By the Poolside, which is located outside right next to the pool. It’s the most spacious room, featuring a king-size bed, air conditioning (hot and cold), a small fridge, electric kettle, tea, coffee, milk, and bottled water. The bathroom has a shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as towels. There’s also a TV with Netflix and Prime. The bed was very comfortable. The property has a shared living and kitchen area where breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. It’s self-service and includes bread, a toaster, jams, honey, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, milk, and juice. The other rooms are located in this main house area. Since it’s an adults-only place, it’s very peaceful and clean. The location is great just a few blocks from the bus stop, a 15-minute walk to the beach, and 5 minutes on foot to Woolworths. Everyone was incredibly kind. Thank you to Phil and Clara for being so friendly and attentive at all times. Everything felt clean and calm. My only suggestion would be to add a microwave and offer some gluten-free or plant-based milk options. Still, I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for 4 nights with a mate for the Byron Bay Blues Festival, enjoyed our stay in the Surf Shack studio, which was a nice and private experience. The breakfast is simple and easy if you want something before you head out to the beach, the pool is relaxing and great to read next to, it is a deep pool too which makes it nice to have a full dip into. For what we got, it is great value. You aren’t going to expect 5 star boutique hotel experience, but you are going to feel comfortable and relaxed as you expect in Byron. With the new Woolworths and Palace cinemas shop up the road and The Bay grocery next door, it has become a great spot for a stay and an easy walk up the residential roads to the beach.

We stayed here for a few nights during our time in Byron. The pool and rooms are lovely. There is not usually someone on site, but you can contact them through the booking sites. Everything was great - rooms modern, breakfast basic but nice, and the pool clean. The only thing I would recommend they improve is at the driveway entrance, there is a big dip for the storm drain, and this makes a deep but hard to see gulley which car after car entering and exiting gets damaged/scratched by if they aren’t crawling the vehicle in. There should be warning signs and a proper leveling of this as they do in other places. It can really damage the undercarriage of a non pick-up truck vehicle!

Personally it was too overpriced for staying a single night on the first weekend in September. My partner wanted me to write in that he “didn’t know we paid $360 to join the Big Brother House”. Obviously that’s my mistake for not doing my research and realising it’s a communal house with walls that are paper thin. I also made the mistake of assuming having “spa” in the name would mean there’s a hot tub on the premises, instead there’s a sauna room and massage services available at extra cost.

All in all, if you’re interested in staying in a beautifully decorated house due to have expendable cash in which you share residence with others, can hear them quietly talking in their rooms from inside your own room, whilst having close access to Byron’s Main Street but have limited/zero parking choices, then this is the place for you! I had a small grievance with our room that I aired as mere feedback with the staff via email (no one on site, ever) and they immediately offered complimentary services, absolutely can’t fault their...

After a messy start due to bookings dot com, the hosts demonstrated proactive communication and flexibility, even an upgrade! Nothing was too difficult or hard to arrange for their guests. The environment was lovely, quiet and peaceful with my husband and I feeling completely at home, with all creature comforts provided. The decor and garden were on point, the bed and linen, clean and comfortable. I highly recommend considering a stay at Byron Palms which was ell within walking distance of all Byron’s shops and restaurants. I do however suggest booking direct with the onsite managers to avoid ‘booking dot com’s’ insufficient/impersonal service, and to give more back to the guesthouse hosts who create such a pleasant and chill vibe! Many thanks for a lovely birthday...
