Please check your bills and receipt before you left the shop!!! It was my first Byron Bay trip with my family and best friends. we had a great time in Byron Bay, we decided to visit this bakery shop before we drove back to Brisbane on 04/11/24 around 10 am in the morning. I had order bacon and egg roll, cheese and ham croissant, sausage roll with 2 coffee, it was meant to be round $38 however while i was paying I notice on the pay machine screen it show that I need to pay around $39-40, I stood for a second and asked the staff why do i have to pay for extra $1-2, when that wasn't even a public holiday. and she just told me sorry and there's no explanation. in that moment I felt this is such a scam and dishonor. Due to this issue, I told my best friend that make sure she checked her bill before or after she paid, which i'm glad i told her. Because they tried to do the SAME thing to my best friend. Which they try to add an extra order in her order which she is fully not aware of and it will cost her an extra $8. That was shocking and disgusting!! how could they do this to the customer by adding extra order in and as the customers like us, we are fully not aware of. this is such a scam and dishonor shop I ever visit...

Coffee and breakfast were good, however this was let down by the awful attitude of the guy making the coffee. He was rude and dismissive for no reason and this seems to be a common theme looking at the other reviews. As other reviews have said, we weren’t expecting red carpet treatment but politeness goes a long way. When our coffees arrived, the order was wrong and he seemed angry at us for this, saying “well it’s your table number”..?!?! But it’s not what we ordered and we were very polite about this. We were waiting to order our second coffees to go and after he saw us, he kept his back turned talking to colleagues until another customer said “are you going to take our order?” To which he replied “it’s her job she can do it” and pointed at another colleague who was busy with something else. Ourselves and the other customer swiftly left without ordering following this rude interaction. Will not...

We visited Sunday Sustainable Bakery and really liked the place! They have plenty of pastry and roll options, and the coffee was great, great, great! Watching the barista work so calmly and perfectly actually made us order a second coffee ☕️

The only downside for us was that the young staff didn’t seem in the best mood, they didn’t even ask if we wanted our sandwiches toasted and served us in a rush. I know it can be hot and it was close to lunch time, so maybe they were already tired. They weren’t rude, just didn’t seem in the mood. Also, the cups for water were a bit gross, which was awful. We know sometimes things come out of the dishwasher like that, but it’s always good to double-check before putting them out for customers.

Overall though, friendly vibe, tasty food, and...

Just awesome baked goods and great breakfast meals. The pastries were out of this world! The pistachio cinnamon bun was delicious, with the pistachio being a nice addition without overpowering it. The hazelnut chocolate pastry was something that could have come straight out of one of my dreams, crispy on the outside with a gooey chocolaty goodness in the middle (highly recommend this if you like the chocolate hazelnut combination). We then had the avo smash (which came on a warm toasted bread with a lovely selection of seeds sprinkled on top) and the bacon and egg sandwich (mentioned to be amazing). Great coffee and great food, filled with locals from early on in the morning. If you are looking for a great breakfast in byron, I would recommend this as one of my favourites.
