We are travellers. We travel a lot during the year around the world. In Januari Februari we love Australia. So this year we planned a big trip wit a two week stop, with friends, in Byron Bay. We love it over there. How big was our dissapointment with BB Luxuy Homes. We rented Belongil Sail. A, on the pictures, beautiful house close to the beach. We arrived at the house and the first impression was a dissapointment. Cheap appearance of materials and a very small pool. After the first night we where the dissapointment increased.. the airco’s where not working!!! With temperatures over night of more then 30 degrees it is impossible to sleep. Whe called BBLH. It would take two days to send somebody over to look at the airco’s. We insisted on a better solution. They brought us 3 fans, for 4 bedrooms. We kept pushing so that afternoon a maintenance guy came!, and spend 1,5 hour. After a few hours we had to call BBLH. It didi ‘t work. We can not sleep another night in the rooms without a proper sollution. They couldn’t help us that day so we should try it with te fans! After a max of 4 hours sleep, while one of the provide fans broke, we cacelled our plans for the day! And called again. Maintance guy came and was there for 4 hours. After his inspection, his analysis was clear. His conclusion: he whole system is worn out. Not repairable! We requested BBLH to move to another house! The manager Liz called us. The airco’s where perfectly maintained and the breakfown was unforseen. We asked here to call the maintainance guy he had a quit different story! Whe asked her for a dicounted rate! This was also not possible they brought portable airco’s and that was a proper solution!! We asked here to come over and look and listen at the portable airco’s. They had to open the windows for the airhose! So a big bughe appeared! We had to put buckets under the condensation hose! After 2 hours the bucket was full!! That would not work during the night!! Next to the bucket they installed the electricity plugs!! Nice and safe, when during the night the bucket fills up! Katherine of the office told us that they wouls come and have a look later that day!! At the end of the day, while whe waited the whole day! We went to restaurant. One friend stayd at the house! And then they arrived! They also brought the owner! He started immidiatly yelling at our friend! That we didn’t need airco durint the night!! And actually i want you all out or here before tomorrow 10!!! That was the owners sollution! No comment from Katherine of Liz from BBLH!! We rented Belongil Sails (26 Childe St) for 12 nights in February. Short version is that the air conditioner broke on the first night - a necessity when sleeping in black house with tiny bedroom windows! After hours of begging and dealing with repairmen, they provided portable aircon units. However this resulted in unusable beds (see photos and hallways (all the vents pointing into a closed hallway that reached over 43 degrees) and had no water extraction system - they simply placed overflowing vases next to electrical ports! Therefore we needed to get up every 2 hours in the night to empty the buckets.
Agency refused to move us to alternative accommodation despite many available with them.
I asked the agency to come and look at the issue (rather then repairmen). Without notice they arrived with the owner who, Murray, who proceeded to walk around the house abuse me and my family (in front of a 3 year old) who RAGED and scared the beejeezuz out of us. For our safely and comfort we left the next morning to pay again another venue for 9 nights.
In short, it was a horrible experience that was made worse by degrading and embarrassing treatment. I have tried repeatedly to resolve this with Byron Bay Luxury Homes with no luck. Still waiting on...
Read moreI made an email booking for a great house (Las Palmas) that BBLH represent. Two days goes past with no response so I rang them and left a vmail message. With no response to this I found the property on Airbnb and made a booking. I informed the owner who responded via The app immediately (thank you Sally). Then BBLH call and tell me not to book using Airbnb app and that BBLH will handle the booking. They were going to come back to me regarding exact amounts and cancellation terms. This didn’t happen. So I left three message over three days. No response. No emails. Then I log onto Airbnb and note the house is now booked across a number of the days we had enquired about. What a joke! I understand they must be busy but they are clearly too busy to care or simply don’t care. Just rude and leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Either way, it’s bad form. They were polite at reception but everything is embarrassing for them. In the end we went back to Airbnb and arranged the rental there for a shorter duration. As a real estate agent myself, it’s the simple little things that are important...and they have failed dismally. I can see from google reviews that this isn’t the first case of underwhelming service.
