The villa I stayed in (villa 1), was spacious and well appointed, especially for a 1 bedroom space. |There is a sheltered outdoor space, with bbq, table and shares, and a day-bed. The entry is a wide sliding door, into open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining. The kitchen had a set of crockery and cutlery, microwave, electric hotplates, kettle, toaster, french press, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. |The dining chairs were a bit rickety, but having a large table was handy. ||The bedroom has a small table, large bed, wardrobe, plenty of power points and includes the laundry space - a large sink, washing machine dryer combo, and clothes horse.||The bathroom was large (and I think designed to be wheelchair accessible, with lots of space to manoeuvre and grab rails). The bathroom has toilet and sink. There is a small courtyard out the back, which includes the outdoor shower. There were plenty of hooks and rails for towels, and an accessible bench to sit to shower. The back courtyard is completely enclosed with a high wall, but I do wonder if 2-storey neighbouring property could see reflections on the windows. ||The floor surfaces throughout were well worn and marked, but all in-tact. The room was clean and fresh - and it was clearly communicated about the servicing only occurring mid-way in my 8-night stay. The fixtures (eg towel rail in bathroom) needed tightening, and toilet was old, but all functioning and usable. ||Despite many warnings about security on check-in and throughout the room, the cleaning staff left my back door (to the shower) unlocked after cleaning, and the front screen door. In terms of security, the front screen and sliding door were also quite loose and felt like it wouldn't take much to get through. There was also no way to secure inside, such as with a chain or hook. ||The reception area sells some snacks and drinks, and there are 2 pools (1 heated, 1 not), with plenty of seating around them, both shaded and sunny. The pools are closed after sunset, presumably for safety (no lifeguards, and fewer staff around later). The gardens are lovely, with sprinklers running to keep them lush and gardeners often around (including using a leaf blower, rather than a broom). ||The sound of large 4WD vehicles permeates across the area - and in villa 1, could hear it frequently from inside (quite close to the road). ||The Broome Explorer bus stops out the front, there is an e-scooter parking spot just across the road, and easy car-parking if...
Read moreThere are probably two good things about this accommodation. Firstly the apartments are quite large and spacious so you can spread yourself out. Secondly in comparison to the cost of other accommodation in the Cable Beach area I guess if you get in early it can be affordable, however if you book late it can be expensive anywhere up to $450 a night. We were able to secure our accommodation for $278 a night because we booked in advance. The resort itself is very basic it doesn't have any facilities other than a pool which is only open until sunset. It is not heated so is cold during the day especially in the dry season. We disliked the outdoor shower and considering the apartments are really spacious they could have actually had an indoor and outdoor shower and not compromise on space. The outdoor shower is cold in terms of water temperature and in dry season it is also cold at night and early mornings. Plus there were mosquitoes everywhere. So generally a very unpleasant experience to have a shower every day outside what ever time of day it was. The kitchenette was generally well equipped except for a few utensils being broken and when trying to get them replaced they couldn't supply us with it. The rooms are also quite tired and need a full refurbishment. A bit dark and dingy. Especially if they're going to be charging over $400 dollars a night on average. The location is 20 minutes to walk anywhere for food in Cable Beach area or the beach itself. There is a bus stop outside but there is only one bus every hour which does full Circuit loop. To get to town it takes 20 minutes on the bus. But if you are wanting to come home it can take anywhere up to half an hour or 45 minutes. $5 per ride so not worth catching unless you go to town. Taxis in Broome are expensive around $30 to $35 a trip from town to Cable Beach. Staff were nice at the hotel. We stayed for 9 days, room was serviced once...
Read moreI just completed a stay for a few weeks. I liked that the rooms and grounds were very clean and well appointed. Positives include lots of shaded parking, friendly staff, two pools, bus and taxi service at the resort, quiet at night, within 5 min walk of restaurants for breakfast and dinner, quick maintenance on room issues and of course price is in line with amenities. Negative points were that there was no security presence other than surveillance cameras. I often saw locals drive in, then park, go for a swim walk around the grounds, then leave. For the paying guests that needs to stop. The heat in Broome is intense, and being able to access the pool is important as a guest. It didn't take me long to catch on that management alternates the pools use by closing down one the opening the other. That's fine, but when the small pool is open, they do not put out extra deck chairs and umbrellas. Mid day, it becomes overrun with families, and again, not everyone is guests of the resort, so it's a double hit and frustrating. Resort wifi often crashed in the morning hours and was not secured. Rooms also need to have wall switching updated. Often, locations didn't make sense and some lamps were not switch activated, and I had to unscrew the bulb to turn on and off. Fridge doors need to have their swing changed minor fix but an annoyance when you're trying to use it. They should hire staff to stay into the evening to receive the late night guests coming off the last flight into Broome. Standing outside the resort in the dark ringing a number continuously for 20 min and no answer? I almost wanted to go to another resort at that moment.
If I were to return to Broome, I would consider another stay. I just loved...
