Oh my gosh, I took my godparents here tonight who had just driven from Newcastle to visit me. We Arrived at 6 pm. We waited 30mins to be served (we got someone to collect our order). By this stage, we had already picked out our meals etc. 6:30 pm order taken. At 6:40 pm, half our table's drinks arrived. At 6:50 pm, one entrée came out, the other 5mins later. At 7:30 pm, only half the food was delivered to our table whilst the rest sat and watched them eat theirs. At 7:40 pm, the waiter gave us three barramundi dishes instead of three completely different dishes. They apologised and said it was a computer issue. By this stage, it had been almost two hours to get something to eat. At 8:10 pm, we got our meals and were out by 8:35 pm. It took over 2 hours to get a simple dish tonight, and to be honest; it was not worth 39 dollars. I should have gotten home at 8:30 ish and had hoped to have gotten home early for bed, but no, it’s 10 pm now. I wouldn't go back even if it were free. It was a really horrible experience. It was embarrassing because we took our loved ones here for a ‘special dinner’. Anyways, I don't think using the COVID card will work out here. We were not the only ones in this situation. In fact, I saw people sending their food back. Get it together, guys... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. All the...

After eating at Briscola on a semi-regular basis for some time, I took my family there for my sister’s birthday. I am incredibly disappointed, and frankly, humiliated that I had made the recommendation to eat here.
When I made the booking for eleven people, I was told that it was not possible to order al a carte, that our only option was to choose a banquet. I chose the option advertised as an assortment of pizzas and pastas. I didn’t understand this at the time to mean that we would not have the opportunity to select the pizzas and pasta that we wanted to eat. Instead, we were served whatever the kitchen had slapped together.
This “banquet” option was $35 per person - a total of $385 - for four small mediocre pizzas, two bowls of pasta, and one green salad between eleven people.
The one piece of pizza I ate was average. The vegetarian pasta was overcooked penne in viscous green slop.
When we made mention that the food was completely inadequate for the price, the owner spent about twenty minutes arguing that he wouldn’t discount the price because charging these prices “funds his lifestyle” – as he expressed it. Surely, if one’s lifestyle were funded by hospitality, they would make it their business to ensure repeat customers have a...
Read moreMy wife and I just had an amazing time looking into each other’s eyes at this beautiful spot. Our waitress Freya was so friendly and attentive as were the rest of the staff, we own a cafe and understand the difficulties of finding good staff,so well done!! Now the food, we started with the calamari which was fresh, light, delicious and moreish. For mains we enjoyed a house special, the Ainsley pizza and the carbonara spaghetti accompanied by a freshly prepared rocket salad which boasted green pear and roasted walnuts with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and some spanish onion. The spaghetti was just like my Italian friend, Carmine makes with pancetta and egg, so wonderfully authentic. The pizza was on a traditional handmade base, great homemade sauce, spicy salami, ricotta, dollops of gorgonzola cheese and drizzle of honey. The pizza had this wonderful feeling of less is more and it did not overwhelm the rest of the meal. We finished up sharing a warm slice of Nonna’s Lemon ricotta cake served with fresh double cream & blueberries which was divine, so light and fluffy, my wife enjoyed an Italian hot chocolate, and I had an espresso, which was on point. I highly recommend this restaurant for its service, atmosphere, food and price and I look forward to...
