Let me start by saying the service was excellent - everyone was friendly and helpful.
But the food just is... well, clumsy. The menu looks intriguing - Korean and Japanese flavour profiles mixed with American classics. But how it has been applied just leaves you disappointed.
The kimchi mac n cheese was lacking in kimchi or even spiciness. It tasted like if Kraft released a "spicy" boxed mac n cheese. The breadcrumbs on top were just panko that had been tossed onto the top, not toasted or broiled into the mac. The flavour also did nothing for the mac n cheese and I have no idea how it could be described as "umami" - there was nothing flavour wise that matched that profile.
The chicken was just fried, as in, coated with flour mix and fried - with the inference of dipping into the sauce provided. It... Tasted like toothpaste!! We couldn't put our finger into why. The mix of buffalo and supposed gochujang flavour just did not blend well and I ended up pushing my chicken to the side. Without the sauce, the wing was just way too bland and the chicken just tasted sad. Definitely didn't look like the picture on their site and had zero seasoning they mention. Also the drummie was a full sized drumstick, so don't expect a chicken-wing "drum" if you're a usual purveyor of wings.
I had the chicken burger and the spicy gochujang sauce - well, it didn't taste like gochujang! The sauce had an overwhelming "spice" to it that just overpowered any other flavours on the burger or in the sauce itself. Like when you put too much sriracha on something and then all you taste is that tang, this burger was one note.
My partner got a bulgogi cheesesteak and again, no discernible flavour of bulgogi or kimchi. I actually frequently eat a bulgogi and kimchi cheeseburger at a burger joint near me and you can detect both flavours easily and enjoy them with hunks of kimchi, so I know it's possible but this dish just fell short.
We were left disappointed - we both loooove Korean food and were curious to see their take on the Japanese and American meld. But it's muddled and confusing - and doesn't leave you satisfied.
Maybe the cook team were having a bad run, but there was too much here that couldn't have been up to them, the menu and food was...

Read moreEdit: the response from Baby Su is honestly disappointing. To be super clear, there was no wrap applied to the drink, so there was literally nothing stopping it from spilling out. Not sure if it is rocket science, but it is literally travelling in a car or via bike. There is only so much a dasher can do to avoid spillage. I am speaking from experience from actually doing dashing. Baby Su should 100% had applied cling wrap to my drink, to ensure that bumps or unexpected sudden breaking would prevent the drink from coming out. Other restaurants do this. I am surprised that Baby Su didn't do this, and is now trying to blame the dasher. Also, I already gotten a credit with DD, as per the process with order disputes. You still get a bad review though. The lack of ownership and accountability would pretty much set it in store for me to not return.
Order through DD, and they didn't package my order properly which cause my meal to get spoiled by the unsealed soft drink. Complete amature hour...
