My family booked Seashells house, 5 Gnandaroo Road in Exmouth, through Ningaloo Reef Holiday accommodation, for our recent family holiday. Helen Turner was very friendly, helpful & efficient and extras- such as high chairs and the beach-towel pack- were easily booked. On arrival we were impressed by its cleanliness & the 4 spacious bedrooms. Everything was bright & cheerful: 2 living areas, well-appointed kitchen with microwave, entertainer's gas stove, BBQ area outside with old drinks' fridge and large family-sized dining table with 10 chairs. The master bedroom had a walk in robe & full bathroom, with separate bath & shower plus separate toilet. The huge, near-new, top-loading washing machine & modern fridge/freezer both worked well. In the laundry, there is also a chest freezer. There was plenty of mismatched crockery, cutlery & assorted glasses. An assortment of children's books & lots of DVDs for use on the 2 TVs offered entertainment for the family if the weather was inclement- but we were too busy to use them! The individual air conditioners worked quietly & efficiently when needed. There was a long driveway with a secure gate which could be used to retain a dog in the back area. There are 2 clotheslines. A few minor niggles: no sandpit or outside play area for little children to play safely- unless they wanted to build tracks on the large gravelled, dirt backyard area. The 2 huge lounge suites were comfortable but the blue one had a few springs missing in the corner. There was no hair dryer in either bathroom. One necessity to buy would be a fly swat, because once they came in, flies were a nuisance! Overall, we found Seashells comfortable, clean & conveniently close to Town Beach, as well as restaurants at Mantaray and Whalers. The area was quiet and close to the Exmouth marina development. We had...
Read moreWe stayed at Poinciana in Learmonth St. It was like a time warp back to the 1980s - bathrooms, kitchen, flooring all seemed to be originals. Unfortunately, it also felt like there had been 40 years of quite average cleaning over that time too. While I think the cleaners had done what they could, sometimes places just need a refresh because grime will just build up. During our stay the dishwasher wasn’t working and it seemed like it hadn’t been functioning properly for some time as all the “clean” crockery and cutlery in the cupboards had a greasy film on them and all needed a scrub. There was the occasional juvenile cockroach in the kitchen despite our cleaning down of surfaces. The bathrooms were in a similar state. Not pleasant.
The furniture seemed cheap (outdoor chairs in the dining room?) but was clean and mostly comfortable.
Otherwise, the location was excellent. Quiet street just next to the shopping area. Nice laundry which seemed to be a recent addition. The nicest part of the house.
Such a shame. This place could really be great with a little investment. We chose it because it was the only available place in Exmouth at the time. And it wasn’t cheap. If there had been another option we would have taken it after one day at Poinciana. Gladly, the experiences outside this house around Exmouth made up for the stay in Poinciana.
The communications with three Agency prior to arrival were good. However after reporting the issue of the dishwasher no one came out to fix it. Nor did we receive any communication after our stay after we reported the above matters to Ningaloo Reef Holidays via their...
Read moreRecently had my 40th birthday 🎂 up in Exmouth from September 16th - September 30th. Stayed at a beautiful Marina home called “Hooked” which was totally “off the hook” and awesome ;) Helen and Geoff Turner who own n operate Ningaloo reef holiday homes did a fantastic job in providing me with the perfect 12 person mansion right in the heart of Exmouth x Both Helen and Geoff were so accomodating and such great people they even made me a Chocolate Olive Oil flourless Cake for my birthday! Absolutely beautiful humans and I highly recommend booking a home through Helen and Geoff when in Exmouth x
Hooked is an amazing home to rent whilst in Exmouth! It has everything! Beautiful big kitchen great for entertaining and dinner evenings, large outdoor area with bbq, gorgeous big main bedroom with en-suite and the other 4 bedrooms are beautiful. Second bathroom is spacious and exquisite too. Top floor of house is a massive entertainment area that looks out to the beach ;) across the road. It is equipped with TV, pool table, lounge and the outdoor area is amazing for sunsets 🌅 which has a gorgeous L Shaped lounge fitted ;) Boat ramp access is 2 min drive down the road so the no pontoon does not even effect ur joint ;) Access to the big double garage for vehicles/small boat and two vacant lots either side of house atm so ample parking for visitors/ large boat ;)
Definitely the best two weeks I could’ve asked for in celebrating my birthday ;)
Thank you Helen and Geoff for making my birthday so much fun and welcoming! Best...
