Kangaroo Valley Getaways — Hotel in Kangaroo Valley

Terrible experience – avoid this management company! This was one of the worst Airbnb experiences I’ve had in nearly a decade of being a guest. The property is managed by Kangaroo Valley Getaways, and the management is disorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest.

The cleaner barged in before we had even vacated and wrote a defamatory, exaggerated report that unfairly painted my family as “feral.” Many of the issues listed were either pre-existing, caused by cheap/fragile fittings, or simply toddler-proofing.

They attempted to charge me over $4,000 for “damage” including washable toddler crayons on fragile paint, marks on leather that soaked up liquid instantly (showing poor maintenance, not damage), and even a rustic fire tool that was already in poor condition.

Wi-Fi was barely usable, my complaint was ignored, and the after-hours support admitted they had no idea how the internet connection worked.

Communication was poor, and instead of addressing issues, they focused on inflated claims after the stay.

This company and many others like it are trying to profit off guests through baseless, inflated charges. Airbnb was once about unique stays and personal hosting — companies like this are ruining it. Strongly recommend avoiding Kangaroo Valley Getaways and boycott Airbnb until they get rid of currupt, greedy companies. No wonder so many people are leaving...

I first wrote the review below around three years ago. Since then Adam, Rose and all of the KVG team have delivered an even higher level of support and service to owners and our guests. They have managed outstanding guest experiences and owner support despite the considerable challenges of COVID, floods, extreme weather events and major disruptions to roads accessing and around Kangaroo Valley. Post around late 2019- We unfortunately do not live in this magical place full time. We were fortunate enough to find Taliesin KV after searching the valley for five years. We took the decision to let very seriously, wanting our guests to sample all the delights of our unique location and magnificent home. We are delighted with the outstanding service and attention of Adam, Rose and the team at Kangaroo Valley Getaways.. they under-promise and over-deliver on every critical guest experience element. We had initially used another Bowral-based manager, but KVG in three months easily exceeded their predecessor's efforts over 12 months, and the five star reviews...

From the moment we arrived at Hanigans Cottage in beautiful Bolong we were hooked! We absolutely loved our stay in this quaint, historical cottage with it's beautiful history and immaculate presentation! We absolutely loved the luxurious beds and bath with a spectacular view. The lounge with it's warm sunlight in the mornings was perfect for a morning read. The kitchen was a cooks dream with everything supplied to cook up a storm! We were so appreciative of the prompt and efficient assistance we received from Rose and Adam when we inquired about whether our arrival would be affected by the recent floods. They immediately checked on our access and checked in to see if we'd arrived safely.
