My husband and I stopped in kangaroo valley as we were passing through on a roadtrip. We walked by Hampden deli and seeing the "school" aspect of the place got curious. My husband is a chef and I have extensive experience in the hospitality industry so curiosity was there. We met Stevie at the counter who was absolutely lovely. Full of arrogance, I go ahead and order the flight of coffee's not realizing they had already been 10 min closed. So embarrassing. But Stevie rang us up and was so welcoming about it! She then made us a flight of the most amazing coffees we've had. Just so perfectly made with such a welcoming environment. My husband had a massive chat with her about her and her husbands experiences in the industry and his own. It was just overall the best. The food and charcuterie looked amazing (we just werent hungry and let's face it, already rude enough in ordering after they were closed). Looking through their experiences her and Nick seem to be doing such amazing things and it's so awesome that they are sharing those experiences (and their expertise) with others in a teaching experiences through the classes they offer. Thank you so much for such great...

Two words, Rip off.

Ordered the caesar salad today which cost $19 in total because you are required to pay an additional $5 to add an egg, yes just a single egg, or smoked Turkey or tuna. when i ordered this meal at Hampden Deli i thought for $19 the salad would be a generous serve however was extremely disappointed to be served this snack salad in a cereal bowl, see photo. The portion was very very small and as a customer felt ripped off and left still hungry.

Rude kitchen staff in kitchen yelling out from the kitchen when a question was asked directly to the person behind the till.

Average ham and cheese toasted sandwich, stingy on the filling and could not really taste the bechamel and mustard it’s meant to come with.

I’m guessing the cafe may rely on unsuspecting tourists to drop in passing through the township rather than locals. Cafe fine for a coffee but would avoid...

Don't go this place; go somewhere else. Try Maddison's In The Valley or the General Cafe.

We often visit Kangaroo Vally; today, we thought we would try the coffee at Hampton Deli today .

Unfortunately, our experience was nothing like what other reviewers said. We waited for a long time to order our coffees. We then waited a long time to get our coffees because the lady behind the counter who took our order was too busy making sandwiches and coffees for the person who ordered the food after us first. The Brister was too busy chatting with his mates, totally ignoring other customers' orders.

It was terrible customer service; from our observation, only locals or friends will receive good customer service, and visitors will get a different treatment (unfriendliness ) . Making me wonder where those 5-star rates come from ??? I would give '0' rates if I could. Coffee...

Best surprise ever. Was in between jobs and bumped into this place. Legitimately a delicious experience. What a dream, sitting eating the Chicken Liver Parfait with Spiced Cherry Butter whilst reading the actual recipe from the actual chef's cookbook.. it's the best one I've ever had. Yes the Michelin Starred chef here just released his recipes book. This is worth a trip to Kangaroo Valley just for this!
