We booked in for a week long stay with Melbourne Kew central apartments and would absolutely not recommend this place to stay. Before arriving to check in, the staff called us 2 hours before the end of check in time to ask where we were and told us he'd be leaving the key outside for us. There was no explanation of the check in/checkout process and this was expected to be adequate introduction for our stay. The phone became the only line of communication to staff as no one appears to really ever be around. Not once was the room serviced despite several requests to do so and false promises that it would be, eventually being blatantly told that a service of the room was beyond what our expectations should be of our stay. We tried to raise an issue that the room was dirty upon arrival, glasses were not cleaned from the previous stay and the room was incredibly dusty, we were told to write a list down of what was wrong and leave it in the room and the issues would be amended upon our return that evening - they were not. Instead when the staff saw us arriving back to the hotel on our last night, finally some fresh towels were provided and cheap apologies made. I've never left a bad review before and don't like that I have felt I needed to leave one now, but I feel as though this was definitely warranted and a point needs to be made so issues with staff and the business can...
Read moreThe premises are shared between Beaumont Apartments and Central Apartments. By the looks of the cleaning, they also share that in common as overall they only break bare minimum standards. Even with the cheaper price, they still need to have regular deep cleaning (which doesn't seem to happen). Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos however the mold behind window curtains is atrocious. The kitchen was also a little dirty when I got there. However the bathroom, bedding and general condition of the room was a little better than the Beaumont Apartments. The guest dryer in the other building also wasn't working and never got my money refunded. The good thing about the apartments is they're within easy commute by public transport to the city and many other suburbs of Melbourne. It's also fairly easy to drive around the area (even though it is a little busy). There's not much in the way of entertainment in Kew itself, however as I said easy enough to commute. As for food, there are places around although expect to reach for your wallet as it isn't cheap. There's also a Woolworths and independent grocer within...
Read moreDo NOT stay here! Non existent house keeping. Had to constantly ask to get towels replaced as well as bed sheets, which were stained after being washed. Stayed just over 3 weeks so surely a weekly clean isn't too much to expect. Dust on skirting boards, window ledges. We asked if we checkout one night earlier would a redund be offered? General Manager said if we give more than 24 hours notice she'd put in a request with Head Office. We gave 20 days notice. After not receiving any communication for 4 weeks we put in a report with Consumer Affairs Victoria. We then got a response within 30 minutes saying the booking policy says No Refund. Why wasn't this said straight away! We were told we had a case to take them to Court but being from interstate it would be messy. Have stayed in countless places in Australia and overseas and have never experienced such unprofessionalism. There's more I could say but the other reviews have saved me the trouble. Excellent location but it's a shame how...
