Read moreI had the pleasure of being served by Erik during my recent visit to the skinny dog hotel, and I am pleased to share my experience. From the moment I was seated, his attention to detail and professionalism were evident. He greeted us with a warm smile and made sure to introduce himself with a level of politeness that set the tone for a delightful dining experience.
Throughout the meal, he displayed excellent knowledge of the menu, offering insightful suggestions and answering any questions we had with confidence and ease. His timing was impeccable — ensuring our drinks and food were served promptly without ever feeling rushed. He checked in with us regularly, balancing attentiveness with discretion, never interrupting but always present when we needed him.
What stood out most about himself was his genuine kindness and the positive energy he brought to the table. It was clear that he took pride in his work and truly cared about our comfort and satisfaction. His friendly demeanor and respectful approach made our dining experience not only enjoyable but memorable.
In addition to his technical skills, he demonstrated an admirable ability to connect with customers on a personal level. His thoughtful, courteous nature created an atmosphere that was both welcoming and relaxing, elevating our overall experience. It’s rare to encounter such an exceptional level of service, and I can confidently say that his professionalism and emotional intelligence contributed greatly to making our visit special.
I would highly recommend him as a waiter, as his blend of skill, warmth, and genuine care exemplifies the best of...
Read morewe had a really disappointing visit to the skinny dog, firstly the food was slow and came out looking like half serves (like you could tell the kitchen was under the pump) the staff were then overly keen to clear our drinks and food (hadn't finished when they were trying to clear) and then got annoyed at us for asking them to come back as we weren't done yet... i have since read further reviews saying the same thing, nothing worse than feeling hustled particularly when there wasn't another booking after us. Secondly, the skinny dog has what I'm told are "unwritten pub rules" where from 9:30pm if you are wearing hi-vis you are asked to leave. We were happily, quietly sitting watching the footy and without notice, security informed us it was time to leave. when we questioned a supervisor about it we were told that hi vis clothing and workwear is not tolerated after 9:30pm, this is not written anywhere on their website (eg dress code) nor are you informed when you book, i asked how we are meant to know about this rule and he couldn't give me an answer saying over and over "its an unwritten house rule in fact a well known unwritten pub rule"! Any venues that want their patrons to abide by 'house rules' you should advertise these rules clearly rather than abruptly telling patrons to leave?... we were there for a birthday and to sit and watch the footy, once we had pushed back we were told we "could stay until the end of the game, and sorry for the confusion" ?? honestly a pretty disappointing experience all round, we wont...
