Mercure Pakenham — Hotel in Melbourne

Luxury rooms but the nearby provisions (and lack of afterhours room service on a weekday) don't match

Overall, a nicer experience but would rather (and usually do) try another place next time we need an overnight stay when we're near that area again

had to book via credit card, but did not want that account to be charged. Was already charged before wanting to pay upon check-in, reception could not reverse and re-do the charge nice reception team, but no bell to alert if no one is visually at the desk. Feels awkward to either call out or just stand there and hope someone appeared soon (which they did without having to wait long) loved the soaps and the shower/water pressure, very nice loved the curtains, great sunlight block-out/privacy bed and pillows very comfortable very much enjoyed the neighbouring restaurant for dinner and drinks (had beef ribs and stuffed pork cutlets - all food we saw on other tables looked really good too), love the sweet-tooth cocktail list (rare to see, enjoyed two - very tasty). Great employees there too. We'd definitely return and order the same again disappointed room service ceased from 8pm. Surely an overnight menu of desserts, drinks and simple snacks could be arranged everything seemed clean but after attempting to open the bedside drawers (the bottom drawer on both sides of the bed do not open) made my fingers feel really gross and sticky very mediocre buffet breakfast, didn't bother and...

Bit of a story but I had to travel from S.A. to Pakenham for family reasons. Arrived at 2 am on a Saturday morning. Stopped to see if they were open ( I would have expected the Mercure to be closed at that hour) not surprisingly they were closed. I thought id try their after hours number. The door opened and I was greeted by a helpful manager who told me that they don't usually take in people after 9pm but seeing as I had travelled so far ( and was let down by a family member who I was supposed to be staying with) she would see what she could do. At that point I could have just slept in a cleaners cupboard, but Anna managed to get me in a room for the night. I couldn't have been more thankful as I was able to get a few hours rest in a very clean and well presented king single suite, room 113 to be exact and grab a nice hot shower before heading off at 9 am. Checked out and had a chat with another friendly staff member by the name of Trent on the way out. What a great stay, even though it was only around 6 hrs. The staff were excellent, good facilities, plenty of parking. If im ever back that way I will definitely stay again. I really enjoyed staying in this apartment, the room was brilliant, all the household cleaners were amazing all the beautiful ladies has take cared of me and tried to do everything at their best they could do. Loved the service and the way clean the room very nice and neat, loved the big TV in deluxe room perfect position facing your face right straight and it is very comfortable while you connect your Netflix and watch movies. loved the bathroom- shower connected to the toilet. Unfortunately, there were issues with the air conditioning sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. Also, I was a bit disappointed with the morning breakfast paying so much for the hotel and there wasn't a chef to organise the breakfast, no eggs, no harsh brown no other options available when it should be. Please hire a chef, if you charging breakfast included. There is no service to call the staff if you get hungry can order from the menu that isn't available in Mercure Hotel unfortunately. In luxury hotels all facilities everything should be available. Mercure Pakenham Hotel is a new hotel but it is an amazing luxury hotel. No value for money but it is too expensive for two weeks even if for nursing students who come for placements. Please reduce down the price that...
