We stayed for a week in a 2-bedroom apartment at The Marina Hotel in Mindarie, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is set right in the marina, surrounded by a great selection of restaurants and bars. The facilities were excellent—a lovely pool with a terrace bar, a small grassy hill for nighttime movies, and a playground nearby. One of the highlights was spotting dolphins playing in the marina from one of our two balconies!||The apartment itself was comfortable, with great air conditioning and a bathroom bigger than my lounge room at home. However, I had mistakenly thought we would have a full kitchen, but instead, there was only the tiniest fridge I’ve ever seen—just big enough for a few small bottles of water and some milk. It did come with a kettle and cups, but since we were staying a week, we picked up a cheap toaster from Kmart and passed it on to friends when we left.||One of the most memorable moments was the wonderful New Orleans-themed night, with live music and market stalls adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, the property is all on one level, making it easy to get to the room without having to lug suitcases up or down stairs.
However, there were a few drawbacks that detracted from the overall experience. The lighting in the room is dim, which can be a bit frustrating if you’re trying to read. The soundproofing leaves much to be desired; I was easily disturbed by the noise from the in-house restaurant until late at night, as well as by early morning vacuuming. The sound from the TV in the next room was also audible. Lastly, the water heater was quite erratic, with hot water suddenly turning cold.
If you’re a light sleeper or need stable water temperature, this might not be the place for you. However, if convenience and accessibility are your primary concerns, this hotel has...
