UPDATE reduced from 5 stars to 4. Since The Boat started doing breakfast Iβve been a few times and cannot say I am pleased. My below review still stands, it is a great pub with a good lunch menu in a superb location, unfortunately the breakfast food is not as pleasant.
The eggs Benedict is underwhelming, simple thin sliced ham on cheap English muffins and slightly over cooked eggs saved only by the zesty hollandaise sauce... over simplified, below basic, disappointing. It could use some green on the plate, some spinach perhaps, and more than two thin slices of ham...
The smashed avo looks great at first glance, itβs presentation is a bit artsy, but it woulda seem that art got in the way of flavour here as the massive trail of pesto circling the main dish becomes intensively overpowering and relegates the flavour of the other components to the bottom of the sea. The texture of the avocado is lost with the amount of sauce that is picked up even when trying to avoid it, the eggs much like the Benedict were overdone slightly which is never good for this type of dish as the yoke is expected to spill slightly when it is cut and drizzle over the main element of the dish.
Overall the venue is great and hopefully with time the breakfast food is refined into something aimed more towards flavour than appearance.
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ Great pub in a superb location, plenty of space and ample room for large groups.
Staff are generally really friendly and helpful, they are usually good characters and possess positive attitudes which combines well with their efficiency behind the bar. Great for business.
Food is a tad pricey but itβs gourmet style and no doubt the cost lines up with the cost of leasing such a premium location. Definitely...

Outside Area: Plenty of seating staggering multiple layers with both tent, umbrella and natural tree coverage to protect against those hot Australian days!
The seating allows for a 180Β° view of the marina and views of the sunny skies on almost all seating options. From certain seating you can watch the sunset.
Dog friendly with stations for drinking and wall hoops to attach leads.
Menu: A wide range of options such as share plates, burgers, tacos, fish & chips and mains. As well as a small kids menu. All of which are avaliable from 11:30am.
There are no waiters so ordering must be done and purchased either at the bar or via app. This will be brought to your table.
In addition to this, all cutlery and condiments can be found inside. These come in premade baskets or loosely.
Drinks: The options are wines, both whites & reds, cocktails and bottled/tap beers.
Access: Level floor access at the front of the pub and steps at the back.
Indoors: A bar located in the center of the room with various styles of seating located around the room, all within view of the bar. Along the sides of the room are seats with a window view of the marina.
Toilets: Both the male, female and disabled toilets are located inside towards the front of the pub.
Meal: I ordered the battered Barramundi fish and chips which came with coleslaw, small pickled onion cut in half, lemon slice and small pot of tartare sauce.
Chips came warm & unseasoned but the battered barramundi fish was hot and bursting...
Β Β Β Read moreWhoever raved about the seafood platter here might have had a VERY different experience to ours... π€¨
The Seafood Platter consists of grilled fish (swapped from beer battered), chilli mussels, anchovy bruschetta, prawns, oysters, salad and a great wall of chips and crispy squid π¬. Everything came out looking real impressive but on a closer look, more than half the hot food was made up of chips and fried squid. They weren't bad and we get why they were loaded up as fillers but was the quantity really necessary? We're both big eaters and barely made a dent. No way a party of 2 could have finished that, it was such a waste. Grilled fish had no seasoning whatsoever, anchovy bruschetta was a soggy mess π€¦ββοΈ. The only saving grace was that the prawns and oysters tasted fresh, plus chilli mussels sauce was delicious, but it needed wayyy more sauce! I mean true, they never claimed for the platter to serve 2 but with 3/4 people, you'd only get 1-2 cold item each. That's hardly a platter for 3/4 people is it π. We'd rather pay a bit more for something that was much more inventive at much higher quality.
Squid Ink Spaghetti was okay, seafood tasted fresh and was definitely an upgrade from the platter's deep-fried tragedy but the pasta was way over-cooked.
We were there for more than an hr and none of the staff came by to clear our table, offered more drinks or checked on us in general π€. That showed how much they valued feedback and service I...
