Quest Palmerston — Hotel in Palmerston City

This was a 5 month stay. One thing that stood out in this establishment were the staff. They were always accommodating, patient and friendly. I noticed 4 different groups of cleaning staff go through in the time we were there. Some of the cleaners were conscientious and thorough at least half were not. The room we were in needed a good deep cleaning, the mattress was a hammock and needed replacing, we went through 2 clothes dryers, the sliding door to the balcony had to have its rollers replaced as it was impossible to open. Kitchen utensils were well past their use by dates, plastic cooking utensils just aren’t very useful. I personally cleaned the aircon filters twice, the globes for the range hood kept blowing out, the noise from units above us was on occasions extremely annoying, being of concrete construction the whole place reverberates with sound and sonic repercussion.

We have stayed in other Quest outlets around Australia, and have come to expect the equivalent standard of excellence and so the experience of living in the Palmerston establishment for an extended period was an eye opener in that the delivery of service, varies from one location to another.

As I aforementioned, the staff were excellent and in our case, that will suffice. We never got to meet the manager, unlike other Quest establishments around...

I have stayed at several hotels & apartments, and have never had the worst experience than with Quest Palmerston. At the time of booking the accommodation with Quest, I informed them in writing the time we were arriving which was 12:30am & we would be checking in at 1:30am on the day. I also spoke to them several times prior to arrival, only to be told on the day of our departure they had not read my note properly & we would have to pay for an additional night. To which I informed them I had not allocated funds for the additional night as I was assured we could arrive at the time we did & the booking would start on the same day. Because of their error we did not have anywhere to check into until 11am (which they said they would kindly allow an earlier booking as normal check in is usually 2pm). However this meant from 1:30am to 11am we had nil accommodation. They allowed us to cancel the whole booking, but rudely charged us a night due to cancellation being within 48hrs. I have requested manager contact & the date had nil. We were told we would get a call from manager within 24-48hrs, then when we followed up we were told a return call by the end of the day & still nothing. A typical business who is only out for their money & how they can screw over...

Very disappointed from someone who travels a fair bit . On the first night I had multiple hairs on my bed when I went to reception to complain they advised the house keeping has gone home and pretty much not their problem and they gave me sheets to change it myself , and the following day my sheets had been changed but there was dried BLOOD stains on my bed and again when I complained after getting back from work at 6pm they once again advised they couldn’t help me because housekeeping has gone home and again I was left to deal with it from hotel that charges a pretty premium prices. Reception is 0 help and there more than happy to take your money but other than that won’t help further definatly wouldn’t reccomend...
