Hello Ktong, in response to your question we dined there the previous sunday on the 29th jan. We don't like to criticize but thought you need to know so your aware of whats happening so that you could address these issues with your staff. We've been getting takeout from this restaurant for some time, but decided to dine in for a change, unfortunately our experience was not as pleasant as I had hoped. The flavors of the dishes are never consistent, lacking depth and not as tasty as it normally is. I mean back 10+ years ago the meals were divine and now its like a rollercoaster, some days the food is too salty, sweet or runny and additionally the service is poor, on the night staff seemed uninterested and inattentive. Furthermore, the female staff seems quite rude, although we could be overracting with her service but we've also encounted this type of service from her over the phone more than once - she needs to fix up her customer service skills. Out of respect for my parents we didn't want to complain in their presence. However, the prices are reasonable and we only continue to eat here out of respect for our elderly parents who enjoy the food here which is why I'm giving it 5 stars on their behalf, overall its worth 3.5 stars - 1 for service &...
Read moreK-Tong has been in Palmy for a very long time, and I have extremely fond memories eating here as a teen. Took my date there tonight, and unfortunately tonights dinner was extremely lacking, and I was overcharged! We got the Sizzling monglian beef ($19.90), Pad Thai ($19.90) and a steamed rice ($3). My card was charged $51, when the bill should have been $42.80.
The mongolian beef was very chewy, and they use frozen veg in all meals. Texture is rubbery. Unfortunatly you get better Chinese at a takaway in the shopping centre than at this resturant these days.
And the music in the resturant was running off someones phone. Everytime they got a message the music would cut out for the alert before coming back in.
Sad to see this place has slipped from its glory days. Please up your game! Also, I want my $8.20 back... Times are tough (but not as tough as the...
Read more40 minute wait turned into 70 minute wait but that's not really a problem as it was a Saturday evening. Dead cockroaches and other insects and grime under the chairs and tables at the waiting area. Overcharged $8 (boss lady did offer to refund when I rang to complain). Cold and rubbery fried dim sims (not crispy at all). Pathetically small store bought spring rolls. Honey duck tasted okay but the container was only 3/4 full. Seafood Chow mein was just full of 2 minute noodle water and yucky frozen seafood. I should have realised it was going to be well below par as there were no Asian people eating there or waiting to pick up their slops. Everyone was a white Gweilo (round eyed Westerner). I guess we've been spoilt for Asian food because we used to live next door to the Green Street Deli (Delicious on the Green) in Geraldton. K Tong's food...
