Covai Cafe — Restaurant in Northern Territory

I have had repeated disappointing experiences with Covai Cafe's service.

A few days ago, I placed a takeaway order. Upon receiving it, I noticed that one item was missing. I called the restaurant and kindly requested they deliver the missing item to my address. However, they refused and insisted I pick it up myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to do so, which meant I paid for something I never received.

On a separate occasion, I placed a pickup order and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. I arrived after 45 minutes, only to be told repeatedly to wait "just 5 more minutes," which extended to an additional 15 minutes.

Most recently, I ordered another pickup. I was assured it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. To avoid waiting, I went to the restaurant after 35 minutes, only to be told yet again to wait another 5 minutes. This level of customer service is unacceptable. It seems the restaurant does not value its customers' time, and the staff’s inconsistent communication adds to the frustration. It was quite a bustling night at the restaurant, and we had to wait a while before a table became available due to the crowd. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff remained courteous despite the rush. After a short wait, we were finally seated and took some time to go through the menu. We decided to order Chicken Biryani and Tandoori Chicken, both of which came highly recommended.

The Chicken Biryani was absolutely delightful—perfectly cooked basmati rice infused with rich spices and tender pieces of chicken that were bursting with flavor. The aroma alone was enough to make our mouths water. The Tandoori Chicken, on the other hand, was truly exceptional. It had a beautiful char on the outside, was juicy on the inside, and carried an authentic smoky flavor that reflected traditional tandoor cooking.

From the ambiance to the food, everything contributed to a very satisfying dining experience. We left the restaurant feeling happy and full, and we would definitely consider...

We went to the restaurant for dinner as a group of six people. We arrived at 8:00 PM and placed our order for both entrées and main courses at the same time. Our entrées arrived after 15 minutes, which was fine. However, we had to wait for over an hour for the main course. When they finally brought the food, they only served one dish which meant only one person could eat while the rest of us waited. We went to the counter to ask about the rest of the food, and they told us it was almost ready and would arrive in 10 minutes. But we waited for another 30 minutes and still didn’t receive the food. During that time, we noticed other tables, who arrived after us being served before us. Eventually, they brought out the curry dishes, but the naan bread was still missing.
