Palmerston Water Park — Attraction in Palmerston City

clean shaded best for little kids 0-10 and the huge slides for the older kids & adults. no “big” pool though which I don't mind. the deepest is about knee high on an adult with a slide for the little ones as well. loads of bbq area and shade. changing room & toilet facilities but I never used it. no tuck shop so byo picnic only a vending machine with snacks. at about 12:30pm ish a truck drove into the facility and sold drinks chips & hotdogs but I think is was only a school holidays thing and not something that happened everyday. lots of carpark. about a 500m walk from carpark to the entry. plenty of grass area for running around or even set up a volleyball net. life guards at both kids pool & at the big...

Water slides have not been working since February which is difficult to entertain older children as the smaller pool area is suited to younger children and toddlers. Engagement regarding the lightning process is important. Communication about this policy and how far away the lightning is and how long it precludes users of the park to enjoy the water play is very important. Water features not quite as extensive as pictures online suggested but 2 yr old and 5 yr old loved it. 5 yr old was just big enough to go on the large slide and wanted to go again and again. Slide requires mats and there weren't many of them, plus some were not in good shape. So more waiting than necessary but still not too long.
